Just got home from the Red-White scrimmage...

...Not quite sure why they started at 5 PM so early in the season.

McKay looked to be in midseason form for the White team composed mostly of what looks like the starters. Hummel was knocked around a little for the Red. A solo HR by Ellis got things going for the White. And then back-to-back HRs by Fitch (2 runs) and Mann (solo) an inning later pretty much chased the Red starter. Fitch followed up with another solo blast.

Most of the other pitchers including Hummel were giving up hits and yielding base runners. I left after six innings, and the score was around 6 or 7 to zip. Not too sure yet about our pitching past McKay. McClure didn't pitch tonite. We have a lot of arms and lotta young guys. Time will tell...
 
I'll be in FL to watch them play. I'll try to make some reports on their progress.

The forecast for next Wed opening game is 68 degrees. Let it be! My BB grandson is biting at the bit waiting for UL Baseball season that he loves and follows.
