He has had the single worst game of any UofL defensive player I have ever seen. Aside from his boneheaded facemask penalty, he has had terrible effort, has taken terrible angles, was covering the tight end on the last touchdown and has at least 5 missed tackles.

I seriously think he is directly responsible for 14 FSU points.

On the bright side JHC - things can only go up from here.

I have to agree. I have watched him time after time break down with someone in front of him and have the ball carrier go by him untouched.

Also got away with a horse collar tackle right in front of the ref although at least he was in the vicinity of the ball carrier.

Please remember this the next time someone brings up recruiting rankings. He was a 5 star and one of the top 50 or so players in the nation and he is absolutely abysmal.

He's simply in no man's land. Too big / slow to be routinely impactful at SS and not physical enough to be an OLB.

Hope he doesn't have NFL aspirations after this year. If he thought Holliman got beat up by the scouts, then just wait...

At least Holliman had Sample back there to help and provide run support - JHC has Williams who consistently looks lost. And Wiggins - he is simply terrible.

On a positive note, the first thing that Petrino mentioned in his presser was that the safeties were often out of position. The path to improvement starts with recognition

Man do we miss Calvin Pryor and James Sample...no wonder why we are recruiting safeties....might as well put Dee Smith in and give him some extended time...
Dee Smith is physical and tenacious just Like James Sample was.

Harvey-Clemons almost looked like he was playing hurt but you wouldn't think that to be the case after 2 weeks off.

For whatever reason, he simply was not the same player after the bonehead personal foul facemask penalty in the first half.

Agree and sometimes guys get their ass chewed out after something like that and they hang their heads but I didn't see anyone ripping him. Could have missed it but either way you have to own it and keep playing.

That penalty was very early in the first half, so yes your statement is correct. However I'm not sure I'd blame his autrocious play on some psychological reaction to the face mask penalty

I think he said "for whatever reason".

Not to get into some linguistic argument, but he is implying that jHC's play took a turn for the worse after that penalty, presumably either a mental or physical wound. I'd argue that he was horrible all game long and his horrible play was on display many times, including the face mask penalty.

His face mask penalty was a game changer (and can be simply attributed to being too lazy to breakdown to make a tackle), and the angles he takes are grade school.

We can all agree he has been a pretty big disappointment this year. His physicality was drastically over estimated.

Its time some players sit due to laziness. Some of those plays were pathetic and if Bobby thought it looked bad from the sideline just wait till he sees the film. Time to bring the hammer down.

It seems the "kinder, gentler" CBP has extended to the FB field.

This $#!T wouldn't have happened without consequence last time here.

FSU very badly coveted JHC but he went with the home state team. I think he isn't a lost cause, but needs to regain his love of the game. I just didn't see that in his effort on Saturday.

First, the Cook kid makes a lot of people look bad. With that said if JHC wants to play at the next level he better bulk up. There is no way he can play in the secondary because he isn't fluid or fast enough to tackle in space. He is a good example of why you can't judge a player off their measureables. What kind of impact do they have on the game is really the most important factor. He really hasn't had the kind of impact we all expected.

Too be honest they need to look at a former Louisville player, Johnson, he had the same body as JHC and was a good LB. Put 20 pounds on JHC get him closer to the line of scrimmage. That is his future. If Dee Smith is better than the coaches need to make the tough call.

our skill players make a lot of defenders look bad, especially Cook. if I saw him coming my way I would switch sides and block for him. if you don't take the perfect angle he will run away from you and if you do catch him good luck geting him on the ground. I believe he is not only our best rb ever, he may just be the best player overall, and that takes in a lot of outstanding talent over the years. add blazing speed from the wr and we have the potential to make any defense look bad. it we get our line playing up to their capability we will make a lot of defenses look bad.

Cook is fantastic but with all due respect, go back and watch the half hearted effort of some of our defensive players in the 2nd half.

No flying to the ball, bad angles and a whole lot of grabbing instead of wrapping up.

Congrats on the win. FSU was the much better team and Golson really looked good.

Cook is special and the 2nd best RB in college football...our issue is with the lack of effort we have seen from our guys...no disrespect towards him..

Thanks for trying to take some sting out of a lacklustre 2nd half effort, you're not going to find anyone here to dispute your skill players speed, especially Cook, but, we had players in position to deal with the speed but they lacked effort and technique to make plays and there's no excuse for the guys that whiffed on tackles or didn't put out enough effort to pursue plays.
