It was some minister on Jerry Eaves' radio show. (I didn't know he had a radio show). Not sure what Eaves had to say.
There always has to be a someone around, determined to distort matters and express an off-beat opinion.

It is pure comedy to see people rip a former player without context or even a transcript.
Then to bring race and coaching into it clearly demonstrates a certain way of thinking.

I am sure they were as well.I'm paraphrasing what Eaves said. Basically he didn't agree with the optics of them apologizing and that he thought they were coerced into doing it.
I am sure they were as well.
That's where you are misinformed. Breaking curfew is a one game suspension for everyone, unless there are other circumstances involved. Even though some people advocated they be suspended more than one game because of the importance of the Virginia game, the curfew violation did not warrant more than one game."It was almost like they appeared on an auction block.”
Seems a bit hyperbolic - no?
I confess that I didn't see the apologies but the way that I read the situation is that they were apologizing to their teammates more than anything else. Team sports is about sacrificing and working collectively towards a common goal - if that is not in your wheelhouse, then there are many individual sports kids can pursue.
If Levitch and MacMahon would have broken curfew the only difference would have been the length of the suspensions - their's would have been longer than one game is my guess.
As for "optics" - how about the optics of a preacher using language invoking images of American slavery... about two Australian kids.

Please also educate yourself before you post. Yes Adel and Mango went to high school in Australia, but both were born in the Sudan, Africa.
Just curious - you know that curfew violation is a one game suspension how? Seems to me that Chris Jones was suspended "indefinitely" by RP for violating team rules - specifically curfew violation. That's where you are misinformed. Was his 3rd offense........Seems to me that Chris Jones was suspended "indefinitely" by RP for violating team rules - specifically curfew violation.
True - but his first for breaking curfew. This was kind of my point - much like a lot of the way he runs things (substitution patterns, whether a kid gets redshirted, etc.) there's no real rhyme or reason to how Pitino disciplines players. Was his 3rd offense........
I understand their nationality but they were born in Sudan and therefore Sudanese by birth.Actually both of them have dual citizenship in Sudan and Australia. And both spent most of their childhoods in Australia.
Do you stalk pitino as he rips his own players or just fans frusterated with the same things pitino is?Lol @beasleythecard...you rip our players and coach on the basketball board, yet someone is a racist for ripping Eaves? Eaves made a foolish comment without knowing the facts...
You are a special dude
No rhyme or reason to anything pitino does. It has to be frustrating to players.True - but his first for breaking curfew. As long as they're human, then the rest is fluff! LOL.No one disputes they are Sudanese by birth. He said they were Australian and you jumped on that. Technically they are both Sudanese and Australian and I think they identify as Australian.
Please go back and read his original post. He was making jest of the minister for implying a connection to American slavery and made the comment that they were Australian and therefore there was no connection. However their heritage is African, which I hope you do understand there is a connection. Time to move on.No one disputes they are Sudanese by birth. He said they were Australian and you jumped on that. Technically they are both Sudanese and Australian and I think they identify as Australian.
First thing, I don't hate you. I don't like anyone ripping individual players on message boards, especially when you do it on the rivals board.Do you stalk pitino as he rips his own players or just fans frusterated with the same things pitino is?
Rocky youve hated me for 8 years plus so no matter whats said you will look for the worst in it.
I share my opinion with evidence as to why i believe a certain way, you and fans like you drive by like maggots and try to be the big man ripping opinions because you are sackless and never share your own.
I believe we have a team that can win a national championship. We need the entire team on the same page.
That has nothing to do with this thread, but since you are the big man you stalk me and try to make every thread about you.
Since you know everything, show me the transcript of what Eaves said big man????
The minister and Eaves discussed that they didn't like the "optics" of the two players apologies. I feel that the language used by the minister regarding Adel and Mathiang "appeared as if on an auction block" was over the top and said so.Please go back and read his original post. Crawford wrote an article (blog?) for WDRB that Eaves, on his radio program, told of some minister who was upset that Adel and Mathiang gave a public apology to the UL fanbase which has a bunch of white people in its composition. Purportedly, the minister stated this gave the impression of the slave before the slave owner. Eaves stated the apology should have been in private to their teammates. Crawford's article gave the impression that Eaves was sympathetic to the ministers analogy. Someone (can't recall if it was Eaves or Crawford, tried to involve Butch Beard in the issue, by relating Beard agreed the apology should have been to the teammates.I thought I heard this on Deener this morning. Seriously, how can someone have a problem with two kids manning up for a poor decision?
Agreed, it's bad enough he does it on here, but to go and do it on the NBB is obnoxious and petty. Like i've stated numerous times before, it just adds fuel to the fire (especially with the vast sea of blue on that board)First thing, I don't hate you. I don't like anyone ripping individual players on message boards, especially when you do it on the rivals board.
