and i really don't care about the record, as long as we hopefully break .500, but just seems like something cool is going on. maybe we'll suck and not win, but just really excited to see what happens and how the team comes together. my judgement of the year will be based on whether players have proper fundamentals and not whether they win or not. i simply pray for an o-line that can block and a defense that actually tackles. and i just feel like this is going to happen. reality says 5-7 hope says 8-5 (add bowl game if you are wondering why i went from 12 to 13 games)

Go Coach Satterfield and the Louisville Cards!!!! Is it FFFing 9/2 yet????

I renewed my season tickets. If I see even the tiniest improvement from last year, I’ll be happy. Even planning road game trips to FSU & Miami.

I’m hyped every year. I’m going to try to make it down to the Ville for a game this year.

As the future lies ahead, I'm more enthralled with the thought of putting 2018 out of memory. It was such a throw away, wasted season. I need some new football memories to help get rid of that debacle.

I mentioned before you guys should listen to the Rivals ND site podcast previewing Louisville. It’s Rivals & free, so no problem for you to get access to.
The ND analysts love Satterfield & his new staff & even said he was on their top 5 list of coaches to coach at ND when BK stepped away.
It’s a good listen because they break down a lot of film & give a great outsider’s view of Louisville this year.
It’s the BGI (Blue & Gold Illustrated) Podcast that’s actually called Louisville Preview.

I'm always excited for the start of football season. Like CardX noted I'm anxious to rid my memory of 2018. I even gave away my tickets for the UK game at the end of last season because I was so disappointed with the lack of effort after the FSU game. I never did that during the depths of the Kragthorpe era. As long as the Cards play hard I don't care what the record is this season.

You can’t help but be excited after seeing a bright, energetic and upbeat coaching staff take over from one of the most dour, nasty and ultimately dead group of supposed leaders last year that turned UofL football into a joke.

I’m most happy for the players that are returning.
Agree 100%. Anyone know if 2.0 left town? I’m sure he’s hiding in a basement somewhere counting his money, just didn’t know where.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a moderate amount of talent on this team last year? Especially on the offense. Pass is back, Cunningham is back, Fitzpatrick, Dawkins and Devante Peete are back. We were told last year that the defense was just young and inexperienced. Add to that one of the best coaching staffs in the nation. I believe we will at least make a bowl game this year.

I think there was/is still talent scattered about on this team especially at the skill positions but both lines, especially the defensive line are pretty thin to say the least and overall depth is lacking. That’s going to make it rough when facing the better teams on our schedule.

If we make a Bowl this year, Satterfield will get NCOY votes.

At the end of the season, reports were that he was staying at the Omni as he had left (been kicked out) his wife. The whole “feel good” story about him being a changed man was nonsense. Multiple reports from people inside the program that he was still out chasing ass, and that TJ was completely aware of it. The program is well rid of him.

Too bad he was the “old Bobby” when it came to behavior outside of football, but he was the “new Bobby” when it came to coaching.

There was obviously more hype around 2.0 coming back but the fan base was definitely divided. The reality was the fanbase trusted Jurich and for good reason.

In comes Satterfield from little ole App St and Boone, NC. Of course people weren't going to be hyped up. People have a hard time wanting to believe success at a small school translates on the big stage. Fans focus on the wrong things in this case his recruiting. The narrative is Is he never had the top recruiting class at App St he can't possibly recruit at this level. What they missed was he won despite his recruiting limitations. That tells mean he and his staff know how to evaluate and develop talent. Guess what he has those same limitations at Louisville. They identified 3 TE targets all under the radar kind of guys they blow up over the spring now they are all going schools like Ohio State and Clemson.

The thing that is most impressive about this staff is they know how to build a program. Granted they haven't played one down, but I believe this is could be best staff ever at Louisville. It doesn't appear they will leave until the program is right.

It's yet to be determined if he can recruit at a higher level. Right now the class is ranked high because of the number of commits. The quality of commit is extremely lacking.

You posting on the Cardinal board is what is extremely lacking. You know nothing about quality and plenty about frivolity. Go back home with that stuff.

You again. I never said they would recruit at a high level. Define high level? Should I use Purdue as the benchmark? High level to me is Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, FSU, USC, and several other blue bloods. Louisville and Purdue will never recruit consistently at that level but they should be able to recruit in the 25-35 range annually.

Brohm 1st year Purdue was 72nd
Satterfield 1st year probably will finish in the 40-50 range could get in the 30's.

I think they are off to a good start after the train wreck last year.

Be prepared. Louisville is going to be very, very bad this year. Worse than last. Lost a ton of guys and didn’t bring much in. Sat will be OK, but this years gonna be a bloodbath...

They won’t be worse.
The worst DC in the country is gone.
They will win more than 2 games & won’t give up 45 a game.

Addition by subtraction. We will be better. Much better.

If anyone knows about bad football it’s a #trashcat fan. Bad football isn’t something that we, in the #birdgang, are used to.

Don’t expect us to be in the playoffs but the new coaching, added discipline and effort will put a product out that the Gang will be proud of. Unlike our Redneck white trash cousins Lexington, we manage expectations and support our kids no matter. Now GTFOH, trashcat.

It is really hard to imagine basically the same team being that much better. Even with bad coaching they were beyond bad last year. I think we are all saying they really can't be that bad could they? Even Vegas couldn't figure Louisville out last year.

I like this staff but I could see Notre Dame putting up 50 because I saw it 6 straight times last year against teams that aren't even close to Notre Dame.

I am takig a wait and see approach.
