Cool. I guess there is something to be said for ending the season where you began. 3rd best team in the conference
I wouldn't say that...we won a share of the Atlantic division and even though VT won the coastal, we had a better conference record than them. As for LSU, we have got to stop the run and limit our TOs somehow.
I wouldn't be too disappointed with playing in the Citrus against LSU. If we traded places with you and you had our spot in the Orange Bowl I wouldn't have been the least disappointed. It is a win win for both of our programs.
I should have quoted the guy above me as he said we finished 3rd best in the ACC...I'm elated to play LSU. Disappointed that we lost to UK some, but not in who we're playing in our bowl. It's a marquee SEC team, so you have to be pumped for that...Go Cards!!
Well we are ranked as the 3rd best ACC team and are in the 3rd best bowl option so that's where I'm coming from. is penn st the best big 10 team? Is Wisconsin even in the top 3 big 10 teams? The committee decides the rankings and unfortunately what they say goes.
We are in a nice bowl and have a chance to win. Hopefully, the team will be rested and ready to play.
I think it's a cool opponent and will be a good match-up. Anxious to see what Lamar does against LSU. The name "LSU" is high profiled so I'm sure that helps with recruiting.

The cards can salvage this season with 10 wins and a victory over another top opponent. Also, if we don't lose a bunch of juniors on defense to the draft then we may be able to make a run at the ACC Championship/playoff next year if we can beat Clemson at home and make some magic happen at fsu next year. Overall this is a huge opportunity to vault our team back into the conversation for next year.
The Citrus is far & away the most prestigious of the non-NY6 bowls, right? With the way the season ended, we should be very thankful and not the least bit disappointed.

This...when Lamar Jackson wins the Heisman and we beat LSU overall it would be a positive and growing year for Louisville
A few weeks ago I would have laughed at anyone who said the Cards had to win their bowl game to have a successful season this year. But unfortunately that is now the case. UofL can't sleep walk through the last two games, including a loss to a mediocre-at-best UK on our field, and expect the nation's football fans to respect your season simply because you beat up on FSU and a player won the Heisman.
The Citrus Bowl is a chance for redemption. Come prepared to play, beat LSU, and the Houston/UK debacles will fade in our memory. Go to Orlando and fumble away another game and this season will be seen as a disappointment.

There's a realistic opportunity here for our QB to win the Heisman, to beat LSU in the top non-NY6 bowl game, and to finish the season with a Top 10 ranking. Pretty remarkable considering the way the season ended and I think the respect & admiration for Lamar is a big part of it (we don't deserve a #13 ranking after getting lernt a good'un by a checked-out Houston losing its coach and passed all over by a running Cayuts team with its then-hot seat coach - let's call it what it is).
Next year we return Lamar, several skill players, the entire OL (yes I know but experience), and 7 starters on defense. Nice.
If the Cards play like they did against UK and Houston....LSU will embarrass us. They will run all over this defense.
The thing that scares me is the last two games, especially UK. UL is the far superior team, but we have so many guys on the defense heading to the league, I tend to wonder if they care anymore. Once they realized that they were not going to the playoffs, I wonder if they are just ready to get out injury free and into the league.

I take the opposite view....they need to get good tape on for the NFL...And LSU gives them that opportunity before the Senior Bowl practices. Feel you will get their best effort.
I don't have a good feeling about this game. I think the overall team mentality is down, I think LSU will run the hell all over us, and the damage a 3 game losing streak to end the season will cause heading into 2017 will be impactful. Obviously, I hope I'm wrong and this negative post has exorcised the demons.

This feels so much like 2012...blowout loss to Syracuse...lose at home to UConn on Senior Day....blast #3 Florida....
