All Louisville has to do is win. Will it be tough? Yes. But if Louisville just wins, they will get the 1 seed. Win out reg season and you're ACC #1. Win ACCT and you're a 1 seed no doubt.

It's hard to gauge without knowing what other teams do. Arizona, Oregon and UCLA can't all win out, only one of them can. But would that team be ahead of us in the final analysis? Hard to say. Do Kansas, Gonzaga and Villanova all also win out, or do one or two of them go on a losing streak?

Also, who we play in the ACC Tournament would play a factor. Beating all ranked teams including Duke and Carolina would make it more likely that we'd get a #1. If we play nothing but unranked, upset teams it wouldn't help as much.

I have a feeling if we do win out that things will fall into place. Teams would get out of our way one way or the other. But nothing is certain at this point.

Win out the regular season and make it to the ACCT championship game (not win necessarily) and they get a 1 seed. It's not MSG, but Rick in NYC on a Saturday night seems to work well, so I feel pretty good if they make the ACCCG.

It's Feb 21. Teams in front of us are going to lose. Honestly, if we win out in the regular season I think we get a 1 seed regardless of what happens in the ACCT (barring dropping a complete turd of a game, which hasn't happened all season so it shouldn't happen in mid-March).

I'll take this one step further - if we win out, and thus win the ACC regular season and then win the ACCT - we deserve the #1 overall seed. I don't care if Gonzaga is 1000-0 and they shut out their last 5 opponents - they haven't proven what we will have theoretically proven at that point. Our SoS, RPI, Kenpom, BPI, and whatever else you hold sacred should all be through the roof. I'll listen to an argument about how the defending National Champions Villanova deserves the #1 overall IF they also win out, but otherwise I don't wanna f'n hear about Gonzaga, Kansas, the Fighting Sean Millers, or anyone else.

Non conference S.O.S UofL, Kansas, UCLA, and UNC are all high ranked teams. And Mich St. was ranked high at the time they played them. With that being said it will fall as the year heads into March.
