Just Announced: Deputy Athletic Director Josh Heird has been named Interim Athletic Director.

Some of Our fanbase is not as smart these days. They are really embarrassing at times .People are complaining about the interim lol. U of L is following the set protocol succession in place .

Actually, I'll use that "smart" logic in reverse... One would think having gone down this path with a mostly unknown like Tyra, there would be a little more suspicion when another lightweight emerges on the scene. But evidently, some are still willing to trust and support people on face value when they've done nothing to earn that trust.

Boggles my mind anyway...

Don't know anything about Josh but not sure what would have been expected for Interim?
Need people we mostly know we can trust, and not people we are told or have to trust. Esp. when an operation that has violated your trust is implicitly asking you to trust them. Again...

Jay Wright speaks highly of him. Whether he retains the job in the near future or not, for one of the top basketball coaches to sing his praises is at least a glimmer of sunshine

They better do a thorough honest search with minorities as legit candidates also. His resume is cool but . I want this school to get out of doing things as they have done buddy buddy and do it right and honest this time around. If he is the best then so be it. But do it correct.

He was here, went to Villanova and came back. He was Vince's Deputy AD. I'll hold judgement on him until I see his body of work in the job. UofL staffers seem to like him. He wants to do a lot for Volleyball. I like that...

Have to remember, a new president needs to come first. However, Josh has earned consideration for the AD job and did a great job in his first press conference today.

Per Pat Forde:
Interesting day for Josh Heird. Named interim AD at Louisville, but he could have been interviewing for the vacant AD job at Western Michigan. Interview was scheduled for today but he withdrew his name late last week, per sources. Wanted to stay at Louisville.

That has to count for something when a final AD is hired. This guy declined an interview for an AD position just to assume the role on Interim AD at Louisville.
