Wow who would’ve thought Perry and Kimble aren't a championship caliber backcourt. It’s mind boggling at this point if DJ doesn’t start Wednesday. Starters should be DJ Perry Nwora Sutton and Malik. Period. I don’t think Perry would have the stomach to handle coming off the bench at this point and he’s a better shooter then Kimble so he should be starting next to DJ and Malik has clearly been better then Enoch. You want to fix slow starts you play your best guys.

Someone did a similar thing when the Cards were on a 8 game streak heading to 10. Similar results except that McMahon was pretty much the common factor in positive numbers with different combinations and Perry was the common denominator in negative numbers. However, as a coach I don’t know what you do with it over a small span of games.+/- is the difference between their team's total scoring versus their opponent's when the player is in the game.
This is obviously a very small sample because it's only 2 games.
But what it's saying is Kimble/Perry combination of playing together has been the worst backcourt combination in terms of how the scoreboard has moved negatively for the Cards the last couple of games, compared to the other backcourt combinations used.
Again, super small sample here. It just points to the "slow start" theory many have discussed.
Not trying to be too funny but his role is to score the 1st basket of the game and... that’s about it. Play pressure defense on the opponent’s best ball handler. That’s all I got.Perry is an example of talent not equaling a fit.
He was a good 4 star talent when he came in and had some nice skills. He’s athletic and does many things well but nothing great. He really just hasn’t developed an identity to his game.
He was brought in by Rick to be a point guard who would just help pressure and push pace. Rick had a way of getting through to those type of players for his system. Guys found their role or left. They had a part to play.
Darius just isn’t a fit on this team for what it needs. I think at times he can be engaged on defense and play well, but that’s it for now. We NEED him to be a pure point, but it’s just not looking like that’s who he can be right now.
Im hoping next year, he can play more off the ball with DJ on the court. I think he can split some ball handling duty and DJ can be the playmaker. Plus if Sam makes a jump it can work better.
Darius seems like he’d be a great complementing piece as a guard off the bench or a 3rd guard starting, but when your guard play to begin with is lacking, he really doesn’t add much.
Ryan can stretch a defense and is a threat to hit a shot from anywhere. DJ can flat out make plays. Fresh can score, not an amazing scorer but he can get a bucket. Sam has upside and I feel confident when he shoots the ball. What is Darius’ role at this moment?
Lefors, you make a good point about Perry fitting in with Pitino style ball. I so hoped that Perry would finally blossom into what I thought he could be this year. But I never considered the different systems.

I just think a lot of it is due to chemistry at the moment and the timing of DJs injury.why can’t he play off he ball with DJ now?
Rick’s whole system/style was his eye for talent. And that’s why I’m not too hard on Mack right now. Winning a title and playing at an elite level for a whole year requires a roster that fits and chemistry. We have a lot of good players and we are winning, but we just have that missing flow right now. Mack is trying to push the right buttons to get it to work.
Think about Russ. He would’ve been good most anywhere, but the staff got the call and Rick just knew what to do with him once he got here.
I feel bad for Deng Adel and Q because I think they really were due for big years before Rick left. But that era is over.
Oh Russ was a project. But the end result was so much fun.
He's definitely one of my all time favorites. I still can't understand why he can't get an on an NBA roster.
Chris Paul, VanFleet Kemba Walker are all 6 feet to name a few. More to it than just his size.
The right opportunity, right team, right coach never presented itself. Happens a lot. Still believe he could have played and contributed to some team. Of course, I don’t think he would have been happy sitting on a NBA bench so he was able to go overseas, make a ton of money and be Russ. All good for him, not so much for fans who loved to watch him play.what else could it be? Russ can score and play d
