We have top level assistants (making $350,000 to $450,000 a year) who recruit a kid and strive to land an official visit to our campus. But, once we get them on campus instead of the recruit being handled by the head coach and the assistant who has done the recruiting we hand them over to a low-level flunkie assistant? I'm confused, if I'm Coach Pitino I want Kenny Johnson running the visit not an assistant at the bottom of the totem pole. Can anyone explain this way of doing business? The low level guys should be breaking down tape, monitoring the managers, and given low level tasks that matches their title not handling the most important commodity of any hIgh-level basketball program. Going forward this should be a fundamental change in the way we run official visits to the UL campus.

Recruiting itself is a different world.

What I know about it is they come on campus, meet and spend time with players, and are basically given a tour of the place by a University Rep.

They are usually assigned with a representative whose responsibility is to make sure that questions are answered. I know more goes on, but I would have to verify all the things they do.

If I am not mistaken, a report is submitted on everything that was done while the recruit was here. It serves to evaluate and record the recruits activity while on campus.
