the scroll on WDRB is factual and either Jurich or Pitino could return (which I do not expect) all the talk about Chris Mack and others is just BS. We're going interim and I expect it to be one of three people:

Padgett, Davenport or Crean...

I'd prefer we go with one of the first two.

Pitino is gone, but TJ still could return depending on BoT. I like Padgett but if you are going to clean house, then clean house.
I agree, kind of. The one issue with cleaning house is the players. If you completely clean the coaching staff roster, then some (maybe a lot) of the current players will bolt. It's my understanding the players have made their collective desire known to have coach Padgett lead them. If that is the case, and if coach Padgett doesn't have the stench of corruption on his hands, then I side with the players.

A true house cleaning will require a complete (or close to complete) roster change.

Looking and feeling more like Scotty all the time. If it's him look for Gaines to join him.

Don't be surprised if all of the current roster is released and free to transfer to any school.

It does these kids no good to release them today. Practice starts in two days, they will be treated fairly and allowed to transfer at the conclusion of the spring '18 semester. They will be given a waiver and won't have to sit out. We'll lose some but not all.

Surprised? I expect it. We all might as well get used to the idea of not having a basketball season. I think we're going to see it shut down. Hope not, but at this point nothing will surprise me.

Word is that the three captains told postel that if Padgett wasn’t named interim - the team was boycotting the season.

This would be even more reason for the University President to not name Padgett as coach. The terminated coaches deserve their fate, but the players with open palms deserve theirs as well.

There's basically 3 segments in play:

  • This year with Top 10 players that starts tomorrow, and then a last post season for us to embrace for a while in March 2018.
  • The next 2 years with depleted rosters and exhibition type of games where we go 6-20 with no post season and basically nuke the program.
  • Years 3+ when the great rebuild occurs and we rise back to prominence and regain momentum and build a new reputation.

I think this could be 3 different people. Padgett now, an interim to his interim to buffer the transition, and then the best fit at the time comes on board to lead us around 2020.

Wait a minute. Are we sure we have a season? All players should be given an opportunity to leave if they want. However, don't know if the University can tell them at this point if there are postseason bans and for how long.

When kids pick a school, even athletes, they need to pick the school for academics (god forbid) because of two reasons; 1) they can get hurt and their athletic careers can be over in a flash; and 2) the current coaching staff is fired or leaves to go to another program or NBA.

Schools already started (Obviously). Transferring (Which I would understand) would be difficult. Probably to deep into the semester. The transfers would come at the end of the season. IMO

If they make the wrong decision and the team or fan base boycott just think how much money UL and the city will lose on the Yum alone.
