I wondered if anybody had seen or heard about Jalen Rose's comments about being recruited

Yes, I watched (what, the 6 or 7 minute?) interview. When the U of L story came out, I ran across it during a Google search.

The video could mean that today some of this is more widespread than most realize. Rose said that most of this went on "at night" after the formal recruiting was done during the day. Maybe it was more widespread while Rose was being recruited or more by the schools that recruited Rose?

At least one school (can't remember the name) was discipline by the NCAA by using "hostesses" from the school (possible sorority women?) to "show the recruit around the campus/entertain them." Some say this resulted in similar actions that Rose reported. (I wondered if part of the reward of these "hostesses" were possibly excellent seats during games and invitations to events were prominent, wealthy people were present?)

Regardless, the video brings to light how much college sports is big business and big dollars. Getting players that can change the program, as Rose says, can make a huge difference. Getting a top 5 or top 10 rated player in the nation ( or maybe 2 or 3 like the Michigan Fab 5), can turn a program around.
