Another positive thing about this season is I think kids who can really shoot the basketball was really brought to the forefront of Pitino's mind. I think he was really caught up on D but, now realize look if you want to get back to final four's or possibly win another title you have to have kids who can shoot. This season ended up being pretty fun at the end with the run the Cards made but, overall as a whole that was one of the worst teams on offense I have seen at UL. We have to get some kids who consistently can knock down 3 point shots it's a must. That's why I was so surprised UL went as far as they did because when you look at it they literally had no bench production, no consistent perimeter shooter, no 5 spot production yet they went to the elite 8? Wow.

He's looking for balance. He needs guys that fit the system on both sides of the court.

It appears we now have a more traditional PG. He has athletic limitations but he understands the game and appears to be an extension of Pitino already. With the veterans moving on it's now his team. His lack of turnovers in the post season gives us hope. He now needs to work on his overall game over the summer, try to get stronger as well.

Having a legit PG is a good, stable thing to have. It looks like we got one for the next 3 years. He's only going to get better.

It does seem like Pitino is looking for more shooters. It was incredible, with the limitations this team had, that he was able to get them to the Elite 8.

I know defense has been the cornerstone of Pitino's teams these last few years and it has reaped many benefits, but a team simply HAS to be able to score as well. Those drought mode times were a real killer.

I remember Pitino saying that for the first time he focused more on offense than defense for the N. Iowa game and it definitely showed. Why not open up the offensive playbook more often or earlier? I mean, I understand defense was a key reason UofL has gone on this multi-year run, but there has to be a balance.

Did it seem like a bigger difference than that??
