I just can't believe this season

Three competitive games against very good teams, three losses due to mistakes at the wrong times. Everyone is to blame. Bad coaching, bad decisions, dumb turnovers and now choking on easy FG's. If there's a way to lose this group will find a way. Don't know what can be done to remedy this nightmare of a season.

The good news is there's a ton of young talent and the end part of the schedule is not as difficult. I think Petrino should just go with Jackson and accept the growing pains. This season is pretty much shot. Only thing left is making a bowl game. Of course there's the remote possibility to run the table but I have a better chance of winning the lottery.

Well, it's a combination of inexperience and plain old bad luck. But, unfortunate breaks tend to happen to teams who constantly make mistakes at important times of the game. The cup half full is this 0-3 team was competitive all the way to the end of every game against very good teams. They haven't been blown out or out of the game. The cup half empty is there's still no clear cut starting QB and the defense has suddenly not been able to stop the run. The stupid mistakes and turnovers will probably subside as the season goes along but until a QB takes control and the offense becomes more creative, the points are going to be hard to come by.

Good thing is there will be no 0-4 as Samford comes to town. Maybe they will figure things out in that game and turn the season around at NC State and FSU? If not, 1-5 and a riot on these message boards will ensue. The fans thought these kind of seasons were over, especially with Petrino back at the helm.

I could accept 0-1. Never dreamed we would lose to Houston (0-2). Now Clemson makes it 0-3. Better luck next year! I don't see what CBP and staff could do in one weeks practice to fix this.

I think Louisville, FSU, AND Clemson could beat each other at any given time. Don't sell yourselves short. Many team goals are still on the table. Good luck the rest of the way.

Lost 3 games by a total of 13 points. Easy fixable mistakes IMO. Just have to figure how to close games. I believe Bolin is a good QB and moves the ball well.

To my knowledge, the Cards have never played 2 rankec teams in their 1st 3 games.

You can spin it a whole bunch of ways but the bottom line this is not a good team right now.

This start really isn't surprising. Everyone knew the offensive line was inexperienced but people tend to believe coaches can work miracles. Fans tend to take the positive side in the preseason. They can't be worse than last year. Well they are and to be honest if the backups can't beat out who is in front of them then that says a lot. They had 19 yards rushing last night! No offense can consistently score against good competition if you are ranked in the 100's in rushing offense and in sacks allowed.

What is surprising is the defense is being dominated up front. With that said a good spread team with a good line is going to create problems for almost anybody. That is the beauty of that offense. They played well enough to win last night.

They have had key breakdowns in every game.....bad teams do that all the time.

This offense is going to be scary good next year and next but probably not this year.

The extreme angle made the missed FG more difficult than the distance indicated. That said, it should have been made.

The offensive line is bad, but much of that appears to be from poor coaching. Pass protection 101 dictates that a lineman should always block the inside first; the cards line does not do this.

As for the rest of the game......the refs gave louisville a couple breaks, clemson fell asleep on kick coverage, there were 2 good chances for louisville to tie the game in the 4th qtr, and the cards still failed. I like the young talent on offense, and I like bolin. But the kids pass accuracy in unreliable at times; louisville just doesn't have a legit starting qb.

Yeah, bhdog has been wallowing in top ranked talent for years and still manage to lose the big ones.
