I don't See Any DTs on the Commit List

The only senior is the transfer that’s been injured all season. I’m sure he could come back if he wants. Our defensive tackles have really improved this year.

We have at the NT spot:
Jared Dawson (RS FR)
Dezmond Tell (SO)
Caleb Banks (RS FR)
Tawfiq Thomas (FR)

Jermayne Lole (SR) - if he returns*

That’s a lot of youth and quality, with ceilings left to reach. Not sure we need a DT. Obviously, quality pieces along the D-line we should never turn down, but I like that way that position group is shaped.

There is Brown-Reager as well. Pretty good rotation if they all stay. 9 guys is plenty. 3 man rotation at nose with some flexibility to move. Banks and Lole to nose. If Lole stays I prefer him as DE in their scheme.

I think Lole will have to play another year in college because of his injury history. He may roll the dice. I doubt he has enough film to really impress NFL guys.

They are in pretty good shape with Bain as well. The one thing about a 3 man front don’t need as many but they have to be good.

It would be nice to get a report on Lole; as he was considered as an NFL draftee when he arrived on campus. His history of injuries may have changed that, but it would be interesting to know his status.

This whole NIL thing makes me nervous as a cat on a tin roof. I'd rather make sure I have at least 8 DL and 15 OL at all times

The other thing we need is a lot of undersized DE that other programs looked over. IMO That is the prototype athlete for the ILBs in the Defense.

To be a consistent winner the OL and DLine have to be good. That needs to be a constant in HS recruiting. A lot of big kids need time to develop. Both OL and DL development is a 2-3 year process. Obviously landing 4-5 stars speeds that up but there aren’t many of those. A lot of Louisville best lineman were 3 stars. They just developed the over time. Very few DL and OL transfers were starters. They are backups so they are harder to evaluate.

I really like Sowders. You can tell he knows what he is doing.
