Totally flabbergasted. Looks like Rick called the game not to lose in the second half. No idea how you give up a 22 pt lead.

We are a perimeter team with no post presence. Watch where our bigs get the ball on the "post", hell they get knocked off the block and are half way to the damn sideline. We recruited a bunch of candy ass sticks, they're physically weak and would rather get tats and eat salads than concentrate on the task at hand.

We got seven footers three deep and you could roll em all into a ball and not have one good one.

How about giving Baylor some credit. They are a very talented team. I knew once they got it together they would make a comeback. This won't be our only loss and it's not the end of the world.
No matter how good Baylor is I don't think a team should overcome a 22 point lead against us. We either handed the game to them or are not that good.

It's not the defeat but how we were defeated that stings so much. But no one who has watch Cards hoops should be surprised. This is nothing new. I wasn't satisfied or even confident at halftime. I've seen it a thousand times. I knew the Cards would end up making this a close game either by missing shots or FT's or having four guys foul out or suddenly turn over the ball. I don't know how any longtime Cards fan cannot be a pessimist, especially early in the season.

The question is will this team overcome games like this and be a viable postseason team? There's a lot of work to be done but there always is. Only the 2013 championship team avoided these kind of games but they had juniors and seniors as their best players. The current team is very young and has minimal big game experience.

Heard Pitino say we wore out in the 2nd half in large part because he wasn't substituting enough. I noticed in the first two games that he shortened his bench quite a bit in the 2nd half of each. Came back to bite us in this game.

Pitino said that he's committed to play this style of ball, and he has to play more guys. Not what he's been doing in recent years, and he learned the tough lesson this afternoon...

Yes Zipp he learned a tough lesson in this game!!!!! To play is style he has to sub Donovan and Q where spent in that 2nd half. Has Hicks pissed coach off or is he not catching on to the defense?

I think Hicks likes to shoot when he touches the ball. Not a good trait if you wanna get PT or your name isn't "Russ Smith"...

Louisville basketball provides entertainment from both ends of the spectrum on an annual basis.

Nobody that has followed this program the last decade should be so much as raising a brow to the Baylor result.

There is not one future pro on the front line, the wings lack experience, and the PG is a steady but not spectacular player.

Pitino bakes a cake, it's what he's done since arrival.

I was actually floored we won two games to reach the Baylor fiasco.

There it is. This is why I'm not worried. We'll see some blowouts over undermanned teams, a loss in January to BC or some other shitty team like we always do in January, and then the light will come on and we'll have a big run like we always do. I'm not looking ahead to next year yet but by merely glancing at the roster next year & the year following look pretty good based on what's returning and what's coming in.

Low bball IQ has been an issue here for a long time. When you get a big lead, you have to manage the shot clock. We often shoot five seconds into the shot clock. Some say it is Pitino responsibility and I guess it is, but if players don't know this already that is just sad

You trapped yourself on this one.

Using your analysis...

It's either the coach's fault for not teaching or it's the coach's fault for recruiting players that don't have the bball IQ already.

Well I thought it was very interesting that both Q and DM were on the bench for a good bit down the stretch in the 2nd half.
And I don't think it was because of defense, except to put Adel on the little guy.The team clicked offensively with that group out there.Levitch ran it and our wings worked it.That was some of the best half court offense I've seen in a while.
