Head on

After watching just a few minutes of the UT v AL game you can see a stark contrast in tackling as opposed to our tackling today and other key games this year

If the only problems I see are on defense, I wouldn’t take issues with posts like the OP.

Better get the offense out there at 6 AM too… 😀

How many points does the offense need to score? They held their own. The post is a serious take on what would happen back in the day if we weren’t tackling the right way, except it would’ve been 6pm because we were only 12-14 years old. It was the difference in the game….

To continue since for some reason I can't edit now, we allowed them to truck 219 on the ground and 319 in the air. You have to be able to stop one or the other at a minimum, but we did neither. English is the worst of the worst. If he is retained in any capacity then brohm is nuts

Shoulder tackles by guys 15 to 30 lbs less than the guy with the ball is going to lead to doom.
Head on tackles will lead to more players being ejected.

Last night a Bama player made a PERFECT FORM TACKLE and was ejected for targeting

Face mask in the chest, wrapped up, and SLAMMED. And ejected for it. Said he led with the crown.

Wussy ball today.

And along with all the other BS, I grow increasingly weary of it

It's a play on words that we actually used back in the day,not meant literally,it was that part of practice with the bull rings and 15 yard apart tackling practice that we dreaded(especially if you were a little dude like me).
It just means tackling practice.

I'd say worries about guys getting hurt probably keeps tackling practice to a minimum. At this level, they shouldn't have to practice tackling..and yet.

(What’s up with “editing and quoting??)

Back in the day is relative 🤣🤣

“Back in the day…” water breaks were for sissies. Lack of water made you tough 🙈🤷‍♂️

But I digress.

“Form tackle” = face in the numbers, lock arms around waist/ribs, and drive through to the ground.

Today when you tackle “perfectly” there are any number of penalties that can be used against you. Oh my! The top of his helmet hit his chin!! 🙈🙉🙊 Kick his ass out.

Today:
Army’s can’t kill people and break things because it too brutal.
Police can’t police because they are too brutal.
And FB players can’t play FB because it’s too brutal.

None to the benefit of said endeavor Beam me up. Either play it, or ban it. Don’t influence games to make the appearance that you really “care” about players health. If you did, there would be no FB.

Now there are a couple on here who will take a TO from their dress making to try to correct my Neanderthal thinking.

Save it. I’m a deplorable for life.

Piiissshhh…they are no different. Believing what the media feeds you about the SEC huh? They miss tackles constantly as all teams do nowadays. Rules have a lot to do with it as you can’t do this or that and it’s hard to process in the split second when approaching the ball carrier. Some of y’all never played ball or weren’t good at it if you did.

I think you only need to watch great defenses to figure out how they get along tackling in the new era. You sure as hell can't be worried about getting your head into the waist area. As far as that helmet, yeah a bit of an art, keeping your helmet crown upward.

I think one of the reasons we have so many injuries is not that the players aren’t tough, but that they don’t hit in practice. When that happens your body doesn’t hold up as well when you are hit in a game. Also, I suspect that a lot of the non-contact injuries are due to the fact that these guys spend so much time in the weight room that other aspects of conditioning, including flexibility and endurance suffer. It’s just a theory.

Miami was averaging 48 ppg before Saturday. And our defense ain’t so good, nor is theirs

If you had asked me before Saturday, I wouldn’t have debated whether 45 points would be enough for a win. And it wasn’t…
