What a joke. What a waste from what should be the headline in College Basketball tonight. Not because Louisville beat UK but because Coach K and the Dukie BS are becoming old.

Both teams, Louisville and Kentucky were the show tonight.

Yeah Coach K is pretty much saying he's not going to "satisfy" the masses with any real discipline. Says he'll "handle it" - kind of like he did last year huh?

The ship sailed. He had his chance to fix this, the reality is he is at the least enabling horrible sportsmanship and at the worst supporting it behind closed doors.

Sure we got our problems but I'm glad something like this isn't one of them.

Bottom line, Coach K is getting older and with that comes this bizarre stubborn response by him basically saying "Y'all don't tell me what to do I'll do what I want and so will my kids 'cause they are my kids"

Bad look. Internet will grill him, TV will sort of dance around it - they will hammer the tripper but won't dare go after their golden boy Mike.

And I know this is weird, but I don't want too many headlines, especially in December. I'm kind of glad Duke is taking it. It sort of opens a few more eyes to what they are all about - and Coach K's lame stubborn unethical response is perfect.

Yep....but Mike will soon learn....Karma is a be otch. The media can have a field day with this if they so desire.

The ACC better do something or some terrible retaliation violence is likely to take place the next time TRIP 'Gracie' Allen acts up again.:rolleyes:o_O

The media has invested a lot in Duke. ESPN has two former Duke players as key pieces to their coverage. I suspect Bilas and Williams will trash Allen but avoid the bigger issue - the fact that how Coach K has handled this, or actually, not handled it... is an embarrassment to the profession.

The guy is tripping players on purpose, and his coach is condoning it because he doesn't want anyone to tell him how to do his job. And even worse, maybe, Coach K doesn't have a problem with it, and feels it's part of gamesmanship, to mentally mess with opponents.

Reality is, looks like Coach K needs somebody to tell him how to do this part of the job.

I think the ACC will give him a hand.

The ACC will suspend him one game when coach k should suspend him 3.

Even Duke alum Jay Williams is calling for a 5 game suspension.
Pathetic he was allowed to play the second half.

If and when Trip allen does it again, he's going to get knocked out...............

Bilas and Williams were both tearing into him last night. Williams said he needed a 5 game suspension and called him a "petulant toddler".

The kid has a problem and his coach is enabling it. Hopefully the Duke AD or the ACC steps in and takes action to help this young man since his coach obviously isn't going to.

FWIW, I think Allen is a pure punk and needs his teeth kicked down his throat, but that's just me being old school. I'm actually surprised his thug behavior hasn't escalated to a fight on the court.

I do think this one will be a test of the ACC. The ACC has been accused of being too soft on its members and looking the other way. I don't know if it's true or not.

If I were Swofford, I'd be making a call to coach today. Coach K deserves respect, so I'd tell K to suspend him, and if he doesn't the league will step in and do it for him.

Grayson Allen has been suspended indefinitely per ESPN breaking news. Coach K stepped up after the backlash and did the right thing after the 3rd incident.

If Coach K had addressed this last year when it began (with the Ray Spalding incident) it would be a non-story. He let it go 3 different times and now it is at the top of the sports ticker and a national story.

100% agree. Allen needed the discipline after the first incident. It needed to be nipped in the bud, but it wasn't. Like a cancer growing untreated, Allen has come to believe he can do whatever he wants when he wants with no accountability and until today, that had been true. NOW we'll see how he reacts to this and see if he can be helped. Make no mistake, he needed this. He needs help and his coach should be standing by him today and get him the help he needs. He obviously has some serious anger issues along with a really poor attitude. He needs the attitude adjustment before this turns violent.

Heard Coach K interviewed on the Dan Patrick show and Dan was holding K to the fire and even now after the suspension Coach K is giving him a pass calling it a mistake. And when Dan said well this is the third time and Coach K's response was well are you saying someone only gets one mistake. Coach K is treating it like he made a mistake in class or on a BB point not an blatant act that could injure someone. Coach K did admitted he didn't see or hear about his tantrum until after the game. He said his decision may have been different in whether he played the second half had he been aware of that. Coach K unless he has a different attitude behind the scene is enabling Trip.

Hard to believe he coached at Westpoint where young men are held accountable for their actions.

With long term success comes a sense of entitlement. We know of this locally. Duke continues gets preferential treatment by the media ...
Perhaps this exposure of Coach K's failure to initially discipline Allen will force the media to question whether Duke is a notch above everyone else in their ethics?

The kid is simply an A-hole. I'm not sure what help there is for that but if they come up with something, I hope they carpet bomb lexington with the stuff.

I'm bettin he will be reinstated just in time to play you guys . But wouldn't it be ironic if he had to sit out against the team that he started his tripothon .
