GLAD QUICK IS GONE THIS SEASON

I agree that James Quick has been an inconsistent disappointment at UofL. But we still need to keep those type kids at home. I DO NOT want to send them to OSU or, God forbid, uahkay. It is important that we keep these kids at home. Perhaps a little better coaching would have served Quick well, but I'm not sure there is any coaching that cures a receiver that is always hearing footsteps and running with the ball before he actually catches the ball.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

Quick simply put is not a WINNER! He should have concentrated on volleyball, I know Trinity has a volleyball program. You know, a sport where you are not touched. Maybe then he would be in his comfort zone.

Quick didnt lose the game, but he had his part in the loss.

Unless he does a 180 in the bowl game and combine (if invited )
he'll be playing in the CFL.

He was nowhere near Devante Parker level despite being higher ranked.
Not fighting for the first down or touchdown at Clemson was the last draw.

Dropping that TD pass summed up his career here.

Not lowering the shoulder at clemson was the last straw for me, I guess it just goes to show that "Star" ratings are not the end all be all

He might have not played his best game but he has helped UL in many wins. Wasn't he the one with Jason Hatcher who got caught smoking pot? Maybe that is his problem........focusing on party instead of football?

I usually don't bad mouth individual players, but have to agree on this one.

Quick cost us 3 games in his career. The muffed punt at UVA that was converted into game winning FG. Not lowering his shoulder at Clemson. Then the dropped TD against UK.

Good luck to the guy, don't wish any ill will on him, but not a bit sad to see him go.

I agree with you but the one on the muff punt that goes on harris that ran into him while he was trying to field it hard to blame that one on quick

You could be correct. It was 2 years ago and I don't remember the specifics of play.

So I'll give him a pass on that one, but there's no excuse for the 2 this year.

The muff punt debacle was on the special teams coach and or Petrino.
As soon as the ball was punted, EVERY CARDS PLAYER should have run off the field.

Quick trying to field it and Harris with his back to the ball, added to the debacle.

I'm not doubting any of you on it. I've already said I give him a pass on that one due to the details you provided.

Still doesn't excuse Clemson or the dropped TD against UK.

TIRED OF ALL THE DROPS AND THE ANTICS.
Hope he gets his degree. he will never get a sniff in the nfl.
Can't seriously argue the point. But I'm also wondering if we can present you with a degree and graduate you to a website of higher learning?...

What I want to know is why in the world did Bobby Petrino keep putting Quick in the game with everything on the line?

Which do you think is the greater scandal: That Petrino didn't know what a terrible player Quick is? Or that he did know it, yet put him in anyway?

This is all on CBP, my friends, unless you all are full of crap. And I suspect it's the latter. The truth is- despite his flaws, Quick was probably more often than not our best option. I think Bobby believed that, and I trust him.

James Quick is a Cardinal. I appreciate that.

I've asked that very same question in the Quick threads... Some of the stuff with Quick is on the coach putting him in positions to fail, whoever that guy is. In a boss-employee situation, exactly the same criticism would be directed at the boss.

I'm all for trying to build the guy's confidence, but how was this plan working?...

Quick isn't UofL's problem, Petrino is.

You are forgetting the game 2 years ago at Clemson when JQ caught a pass in the closing seconds, and instead of racing for the pylon, stayed straight down the numbers and was caught short of the goal line. We couldn't punch it in, and lost. I thought the UVA fumble was Michaels Harris.

Quick is another example of trying to turn a sprinter in to a receiver, running skill can only take you so far. While quick improved, he never mastered the position to a successful degree which was evident on how he caught the ball in his hands, didn't know down-distance much of the time, and showed an overall lack of appreciation for detail the position requires.
