What a difference a day makes.

Louisville Softball run ruled GT Saturday 10-2.

On Sunday, though, it was the Yellow Jackets with the big bats and they sent the Cards to a five-inning, 12-2 defeat to even up the series at 2-2. The Cards managed just four hits in the contest, one of them a third-inning home run by Taylor Roby. She leads the team with 11 "touch 'em alls" this season .

GT blasted four over the fence against the Cards, though, and on four different UofL pitchers. With the win, GT improves to 12-20 overall and 6-16 in the ACC.

Louisville leaves Atlanta to face Duke in Ulmer Stadium this weekend. The Blue Devils are fourth in the ACC.

Duke Blue Devils Softball joined the ACC as a Division I varsity program in 2017. In July 2015, former Big Ten Player of the Year Marissa Young was named as the Blue Devils first head softball coach. Young spent the previous two years as an assistant coach at UNC.

13 of the 15 ACC members play softball, Miami and Wake Forest do not field teams. The top 10 teams at the end of the regular season will participate in the ACC Softball Tournament here in Louisville on May 12-15.

The Cards currently sit in ninth place in the ACC, with a 15-17 mark and 9-12 in the ACC. With the wide disparity of actual games played, the conference percentage is the determining factor to select the ten schools that will visit Ulmer Stadium. The Cards are at 0.429. In eighth place is UNC (8-9 in conference for a 0.471 CPCT). In tenth place is Virginia (9-16 / 0.360)

Louisville and UNC will face each other in a four game series to end the regular season in Chapel Hill May 7-9th.
