A lot of defense by both teams both offenses really struggling. A lot of players going in and out for both teams.

It’s almost like we are treating this like a practice game and not even trying to win.

Chelsie is making some poor decisions. I am sure she will settle down.

I do not think we will win this game we are throwing too many players in and there is no rhythm. I would like to see more of Verhulst she has size and a nice jumper. To many turnovers by people who don’t normally turn it over.

HVL has to find her shot. Her and Robinson are forcing shots. This may end up being a loss, but I hope they learn from it. Long season so it won’t kill us.

The announcer said we changed our system so it will take us time to get used to it. Why did we change our system the old system worked well for us?

Cochran and Dixon just aren’t helping. Cochran didn’t even jump for the rebound. Not a fan of either

Chelsey not sure of her last name. Single handedly killed our mojo. First she steals the ball and over penetrates and loses the ball. Then she pulls whatever she just did driving the ball. Nope that won’t float.

Cochran was fouled by two players on that putback. Refs didn't want to decide the game on a foul. Seems like UofL sports can never escape bad officiating.

But Walz has a lot of work to do.

That’s ok there were some pretty questionable calls agains Arizona too. Typical WBB officiating; piss poor.

Because Walz doesn't have a lead guard who can consistently create her shot. No Shoni, no Asia and no Dana. No Jazz Jones. He has to use ball movement but he needs his front court players to finish.

I think this team will develop into a contender not a bad loss against a good team for your first game of the season. I would like to see more of Verhulst I think she will be our X-factor.

For a team with so much returning experience and mature transfers, UL sure played poorly. Dixon and Cochran were totally ineffective, and dominated inside on both ends. Not sure how they expect to rebound without jumping.

The one replay late in the game showed the Arizona girl leaping over Cochran for a put back; I hope Jeff shows that to. Olivia as to how effective it is when a tall girl can jump vertically.

I agree on the jumping you hardly see the bigs in women’s basketball jump. HVL and Mykasa are 2 of the best rebounders on the team because they jump and they are 5’7”. We played a good opponent for our first game and lost in overtime. Playing a team like this shows us what we have to work on to be better.
It was a tough loss but I am not disappointed. If we would have lost badly I would have been disappointed. Both teams played tough defense it was a tournament type defense.

Agreed on our perimeter defense. I was shocked at how bad we missed on some of the three-point shots. We will improve offensively, but we must get better performance inside.

Two areas beat us. Turnovers (we had 17) and three-point shooting (2 for 11).

Still thought we fought hard. Walz wasn't too ticked off in the postgame -- a good sign.

I’m concerned with our bigs. Dixon should be a force at this point and Cochran shouldn’t be far behind. Neither impressed me. The point people are making about jumping is valid and concerning.
Without effective bigs we won’t go far. Hope the Dakota girl is a gamer. Of course we’re talking next year of the year after.
