The big day is here!!!!!!!!! Go CARDS! Let's win and go to the Final Four! Louisville 65 - Greenos 56!
I agree completely. I was hoping for Sweet 16, beyond that is bonus. Final Four, unthinkable a few weeks ago, is now a very real possibility. I also think the Cards are better without CJ. He was good, but selfish. With Q running the point, the Cards are getting more assists, fewer turn overs, overall better ball movement and distribution. It allows Rozier, Blackshear, and Trez do their thing.Originally posted by Cue Card:
This team has over achieved so win or lose today, I'm content with the season and I would consider it a good year with a loss. A final 4 would be considered a great year.
Coach Pitino has earned every nickle of his salary this year. He has had no more than 3 players at any given time who can be counted on to hit some shots all season long, and yet this team is now in the elite 8 with a shot at another final 4 in spite of the obvious warts this team has on the offensive side of the ball.
Overcoming the distractions Chris Jones created while on the team and after getting booted off the team is a real credit to the kids on the roster, and to the leaders of the team. For instance, I don't think it's a coincidence Wayne Blackshear started playing much better after Jones was dismissed. I don't think Q just magically got better overnight. The kids have come together and that's the only thing I'll give Chris Jones credit for. Getting him off this team helped bring it together.
I know people won't find this opinion very popular but I never liked Jones attitude, and I personally was happy when he got booted from the team. He was a cancer that needed to be removed. The team is much better off without him no matter what the talking heads say.
Today should be a fun game though. It should be physical, and the team that controls tempo should win.
Go CARDS!!!!
Interesting stuff here! Thanks.Originally posted by OneEarWonder:

Agree with much of this though I'm still sorry that Chris J is gone. He could have been a huge asset to the team if he'd gotten his head together. That being said, we now know that we've got a damn good point guard for the next 3 years and whatever remains of this NCAA tournament.Originally posted by OneEarWonder:
