I've said it a dozen times, this team is like a yo-yo, up and down. Our pitching is definitely a lack of talent and coaching. Our hitting, fielding, and base running and basically everything that's not pitching related is a total lack of focus.. For whatever reason this team just does not always come to play. That kinda falls under coaching as well..

This team is just good enough to keep your hopes up, only to let you down by the same old sht..

I’ll give you pitching, and other than Munroe at 3rd, the fielding has been pretty good. Hitting, too, sans a handful of games. Base running has been good. Not mistake free, but good.

Not every game is going to be perfect. These are young humans playing a long season.

I totally get the “young humans”, particularly in college baseball given the nature of the game. I also agree that aside from Munroe at 3rd, this defense is as good as any UL team in recent memory, and compares well against every other D1 college baseball team in the US. I think we can all agree the pitching rotation is a weakness that cannot overcome its inability to command the strike zone, and giving up unearned runs is a fore-gone conclusion. This team has demonstrated its offensive capabilities time and time again, one that can actually overcome the ineffective pitching. However, the total inconsistency of this team seems to be a characteristic that I do not see with the rest of the country.

Not a criticism, just an objective observation that results in disappointment.

On the fielding, base running, and hitting, I agree as a whole, they have been pretty good but all those things have cost us games here and there. Errors at the worst possible time, running ourselves out of innings on the bases, and untimely fielding errors.

Sure, they aren't perfect and yes they are human, young humans as you say, but they are inconsistent. Thats why we are up and down.. Great teams are not inconsistent.

Pitching has been this team and the past 4-5 years teams problem. 85-low 90mph pitchers who struggle to throw strikes are bp. The pitchers they do have 95+ mph throw straight fastballs and horrible control off speed. Walks and no movement fastballs will overcome anything else you can do offensively.
