FSU ahead 7-0. Dalvin Cook's hamstring looks just fine.

FSU's #20 Trey Marshall (starting safety) is ejected for using crown of his helmet. That impacts our game too. He will have to sit out the first half against us.

MiamI just cannot get into the end zone. They end up with a FG, and now trail 7-3.

Sure enough, Steelers!

Miami has gotten several good breaks in a row here.... FSU TD is overturned by replay, and FSU settles for FG to take the lead 17-3. Miami responds to with a TD drive of their own to pull within 17-10. Cook pulls his hamstring again while shifting into overdrive on what could have been another long TD run.

With Cook on the sideline getting treatment for his sore left hamstring, FSU comes up short on two straight short yardage plays. Miami takes over on downs. FSU even loses its right to challenge a call for the rest of the game. Still 17-10 FSU.

FSU misses a long FG (actually bounces off the upright) as time expires in the first half. FSU dominated the first half, but leads only 20-10 at halftime.

Cook returned to the game despite the sore hamstring.

Miami with an epic 17 play TD drive to pull within 3 at 20-17. Brad Kaaya looks so much better than when we faced him during his very first game last year.

FSU refuses to let Miami run the football (just 15 yards rushing on 14 attempts) but on that drive the Hurricanes completed short passes to methodically march right down rhe field.

Miami doing a much better job getting pressure on Golson in the second half, and also limiting Cook in the running game.

FSU also does a better job getting the ball to Cook. FSU FG makes it 23-17.

Thanks for the updates. I can't pull myself away from the TCU-K State game. Currently, it's tied at 45 with 1:47 left in the 4th. I'll turn on the Miami-FSU game as soon as this one ends.

Edit: it only took TCU 30 seconds to score a TD for a 52-45 lead.

FSU with just 72 yards of offense so far this half.

Miami has come all the way back to,take the lead 24-23. Kaaya looks like Bernie Kosar back there throwing strikes to his receivers. 368 yards and 3 TDs. Still just 25 yards rushing for the Canes

With Kaaya it more like Hi Felica not Bye Felica...playing extremely well right now.

Cook is such a special back and proves why on that drive. Noles 29-24. No 2 point conversion.

I seriously would have handed the ball off to Cook on a stretch play for the 2pt attempt.

FSU just from the eye test is not the same team even as last year...not saying we will beat them but it would not surprise me if we pull the upset next week as long as we don't turn the ball over.

Golson is still learning that offense, so they are nowhere near as efficient on offense as last year. Several new offensive linemen, too.

That defensive line is very, very good, however. We will have to take a major step forward in our blocking to have a chance.

Probably the best possible outcome in that game for us. FSU wins an emotional, hard fought game. It will be difficult for them to give that level of focus and effort for a 2-3 UofL team.

Another key you didn't mention was we have to set the edge to contain Cooke...

Absolutely. That's how they took the game from us last year late in the game. The defense got gassed late, and they simply beat us to the outside, and our pursuit was too worn out to keep up.

I am not too encouraged by Miami's performance last night. The FSU defensive front dominated the line of scrimmage and would not let Miami run the football. Kaaya and the Miami receivers were good enough in the passing game to make plays to give Miami a chance to win.

We are not nearly as good as Miami at creating a pocket for the QB to pass the ball, and of course Lamar is not nearly as advanced as Kaaya in the passing game. Bottom line there is not to expect this Louisville team to be able to exploit the FSU defense like Miami did.

It is a one possession game....gotta protect LJ & Bonnafon along with opening holes for the running game and as stated earlier Fields and Brown really have to protect the edge and force Cooke inside...also be at least even in turnover ratio...
