Some of the Old Timers on the board may remember this. I am fairly certain Pitino may have used this scoring system in the past. He may still be using it to evaluate a players performance in a game. It does not take into consideration deflections, but does take into account defense, other things besides scoring the rock. Some local media types might want to ask Coach if he still uses this, or how he may have refined it. Listed below is how I understand it works. How a score for a player is calulated. PLUS POINTS
1. Total Number of Points Scored by Player
2. Total Number of Rebounds by Player
3. Total Number of Assists by Player
4. Total Number of Steals by Player
5. Total Number of BLocked Shots by Player
Add these numbers together for a Total
MINUS POINTS
1. Missed FG attempts by Player
2. Missed FT attempts by Player
3. Number of TO'S by Player
Subect the Total Minus score from theTotal Plus Score= The Player's Score in This Scoring System
SCORING SYSTEM BY MINUTES PLAYED BY PLAYER
1. 1 point per minute = OMG if a player does this night in night out headed for NBA ALL STAR TEAM
2. 3/4 point per minute = If a player does this on a consistant basis he is gonna play in the League for a long time.
3. 1/2 point per minute = Excellent player may be a star in college role player NBA Perhaps Europe
4. 1/4 point per minute = Nice role player in College
