Hate that targeting call. We've been burned twice this year, and I understand the desire to protect players, but come on. Let them play.
I found myself apologizing to the nearby FSU fans for that call. Uncalled for.Hate that targeting call. We've been burned twice this year, and I understand the desire to protect players, but come on. Let them play.
I believe the Nole fan was saying the call was bad - which it was. Targeting is supposed to be in place to reduce intentional head shots. I saw one a while ago in the UVA - SU game. Then in the Michigan game the refs totally blew a call by calling targeting when a player was pushed into the MSU QB. It was total crap. Keith turned his head and was leading with his shoulder. There was head contact but it sure as heck wasn't targeting.I found myself apologizing to the nearby FSU fans for that call. Uncalled for.
It is a very inconsistent on the call from game to game. Calloway from,UF should have been called for targeting based on other calls over the weekend. The rule was setup with good intentions, but doesn't work.I believe the Nole fan was saying the call was bad - which it was. Targeting is supposed to be in place to reduce intentional head shots.
