Former Wichita State guard Fred VanVleet is
among at least 25 athletes that may be involved in an FBI investigation looking into NCAA basketball.

Friday, VanVleet says he does not have a comment on the Yahoo Sports report that he received more than $1,000 from an agent during his senior year at Wichita State. The report also says VanVleet's stepfather received $2,000 from the agency while VanVleet was at WSU.

Key thing to remember: what is reported to us is much smaller than what is going on. In this and any FBI investigation, there is a lot that they have not told us.

If one player at a school received $1000 or $3000, you are naive if you think he was the only person to receive money. While everyone involved hid it from the authorities, parents will tell other parents and athletes will tell other athletes.

Not in the eyes of the NCAA. The dollar amount involved at UofL, spread out over 4 years, 3 players and a few recruits, was just over $12K.

I don't know how anyone can say which way is up in the eyes of the NCAA truthfully. No consistency in their evaluation and application. In our case, the punishment was more severe because it was sexual. That was the bottom and unwritten line in why our banner was taken.

He’s was off the list when he called us “cheaters” at his last press conference. Screw him in a big way!!!
Turns out he's just another of a long list of hypocrites. Busting on programs for doing what his own has done. Isn't that special.

It played a part. But at the end of the day, we had players receive impermissible benefits in monetary form that ruled them ineligible. Any games an ineligible player played in- vacated.
