Former Michigan State Player Adreian Payne Dies At 31

The college basketball world has lost a notable figure, as former Michigan State Spartans forward Adreian Payne has passed away. Payne, who last played for Lithuania’s Juventus Utena from December to February, was 31.

Former Michigan State star Adreian Payne was shot and killed in Orlando, Florida, early Monday morning, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Payne, who was the 15th pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2014 NBA draft, was 31.

Per local authorities, a man named Lawrence Dority has been arrested for the shooting on a first-degree murder warrant. Dority stayed on the scene and spoke with police before he was transported to jail.

Court documents released in Orange County, Florida, show that former MSU basketball star Adreian Payne, 31, was fatally shot Monday after being called to a home to help prevent a domestic dispute from escalating.

Some more details emerging it appears he was attempting to help a friend in a domestic dispute just tried to do a good thing and ended up being shot. Just awful.
