Josh Harvey-Clemons had another stellar effort starting at one of the Inside Linebacker positions for the Redskins last night. He got dinged up two games ago, but fought through it, and received lots of praise from coaches and fans alike for his effort. Apparently, he performed very well again last night. (I haven't watched the replay of the game yet, but it's nice to read). But it wouldn't shock me to see JHC start at Inside Linebacker for the Skins from game 1.

In other Redskins - Former Cardinal news --

-- the battle to land the 4th Outside Linebacker spot is looking like it will go to Cassanova McKinzy, and not former Card Marcus Smith. McKinzy had 2 sacks last night, and has been consistently productive all training camp. So ... sadly, it looks like Marcus Smith will be looking for another team in the near future. HOPEFULLY ... the last pre-season game, where all NFL teams rest all their starters and most of their second string, will give Marcus a chance to showcase his skills for other NFL teams. Interestingly, this means that the 7th Round draft pick the Skins used on Oklahoma State DE Jordan Brailford is destined for the practice squad.

-- Geron Christian has started to show some improvement, but in the world of pro sports, patience is a rare thing. I think (and hope) that the front office and coaching staff are still sticking to their 3 year plan for Geron. I know the fans have been pretty predictable in their opinions ... But this is only exacerbated by Trent Williams hold out, and soon-to-be trade ... which opens up a huge hole for the Skins at Left Tackle. Geron was drafted to be developed into Williams' replacement ... And Williams still has 2 years left on his deal. This is why there is sudden urgency being foisted upon Geron. The battle will come down to either Christian or long time veteran and former Raider Donald Penn. Penn is very good with technique, but isn't in great shape. Christian has greatly improved his strength and technique, but his technique sometimes whiffs, which ain't what you want with your LT.
