Feels like we’ve hit the proverbial “Tipping Point” with recruiting. You build momentum to a certain point, the class starts to fill up, then kids start to realize their spot might be taken by someone else. The balance of power shifts to the coaches and program, vs waiting and hoping kids sign.
Good spot to be in for the staff.
Headed toward 2/2 classes that will essentially be done before the season kicks off. And it’s kids that will help, and in positions of need. My guess is we get to 85% full by Aug, and leave a few spots for big names and/or late surprises. I don’t really care about the rankings, just want to know that the kids will play meaningful snaps and contribute in our system. We can win big with classes in the 30’s.
No more throwing darts and hoping they stick, and a “we’ll figure it out later” approach with no real plan, like the previous regime, where you’re forced to take bodies that will never see the field.
Great place to be. Really happy with Satt and his staff.
