I am hungry for football season. I can’t stand it. Just spent the day rewatching the WKU and UKaaaay games from last year and wanted to pop in with some fresh observations.

I still believe we go bowling and can beat the Billies and/or Irish but our margin of error is tiny. I’m banking on increased discipline and football knowledge to flip a couple of losses at minimum.

Point blank, 2018 was a dumb football team. Dumb decisions, dumb penalties, just dumb all around. Scott is going to change that immediately. No worries.

Poor Malik is an unreal talent but don’t think the kid has been coached a day in his life. He ran around WKU to get us the win but good teams (sadly UKaaay) took total advantage of him. We can put up good points if he has marginal improvement.

The lines are atrocious. Not even an effort issue. They are just plain terrible. I don’t think we’d hurt if all the running backs transferred to be honest.

Defense has some athletes. I think a lot of their issue in the secondary was more effort than talent.

Statistically and score wise, 2018 was one of the absolute worst teams in the history of the sport and sadly the worst governors cup team since it started but the talent is there for a rebound now that we got coaching.

Loved Bobby and Tom but it’s clear they screwed up royally. Tom with the contract and Bobby’s management. This program ain’t dead though, bro. 2019 will be a solid bounce back and 2020 will be the year of the card. No fear, Birdgang

I applaud you for having the guts to rewatch games from the 2018 season, the worst season all time in UofL’s history, I can honestly say. Plenty to build upon.

I agree 200%.It is an old saying but one that is worth repeating."A team is a reflection of its Coach and it's coaching.Bobby and his staff clearly did not have "It" any more and it was reflected in our teams effort.Lamar helped mask alot of the O-lines shortcomings and some of Bobby's and other's lack of offensive creativity.When the staff had to go back to a more traditional QB in Puma it was clear that somewhere alot of the magic was gone from Bobby's play calling.I am like you I am itching for football season, but as we get long winters up here I am not rushing it too much if you know what I mean.
