What is this thing with HOF for assistant coaches is this a joke? How do you give an assistant coach HOF status, what stats are they using to determine there achievements? I guess next we will the best fan HOF, the best ball boy HOF, etc.

Let me guess, this is about former National Champion Louisville Cardinal Kenny Payne being honored?
No it is about HOF for assistant coaches how do you guage their success? While Wade Houston was assistant coach at Louisville Denny Crum led Louisville to 2 National Titles and 5 FF’s. Wade did good at Louisville because Denny was the Head Coach. I like Wade but he didn’t do so well as a Head Coach. So was he a good assistant coach or was Denny a great Head Coach?
Houston was a good assistant but also cost us big-time by allowing his son to sign during the early signing period and then leaving with him for Tennessee. All the other guards that year were gone by the time all that came down! Don’t blame Wade for wanting Allen to go with him but blame him for our lack of guards the next season.
Allen never played in an NCAA tournament game by the way, Wade never coached in the NCAA tournament either. No tears shed by me!

Wow, you’re highly critical and a wee bit selfish towards a guy who thought he was doing the best for his son and family.
Read my statement. My criticism was allowing Allen to sign during the EARLY signing period in the fall of his senior year. Wade had been getting interviewed every spring for 2-4 years prior to getting the Tennessee job. He actually was a finalist for the Texas job the spring before but they opted for Tom Penders instead.
Wade shouldn’t have allowed Allen to sign early. When he signed the program had no shot at any other elite guard they were recruiting. It was Crum’s blunder too.
Don’t pretend like you’re family and know all the details to their decision making. It’s your blunder for carrying all that dead weight on your mind.
