It is killing the talking heads at ESPN that we are in the sweet 16. We are near the bottom of their re-ranked 16 teams and on one article about all of the teams we are not even mentioned. Would love to win one or two more just to make them eat crow.

Not sure why Michigan St is the new golden child. I don't believe anyone was complaining when they were a 7 seed to start with. The only thing they did was beat a Virginia team that frankly hasn't looked good since we beat them.

MSU was underseeded.

Said it at the beginning of the season. The media is only desirious of a SuCkS vs duke or
kansas title. Now that kansas has ' kansased', MSU, UNC,Wisc, and Zona are the 6
the media will focus on. Good. Cards just keep winning.

Personally, I like MSU, I felt their guard play could get them far, I was not sold on Va or 'Nova.

However, as far as ESPN and media in general giving them, and NC State, so much love now may be because of UCONN and UK last year. I have a feeling it is an over-correction... we had a 7 & 8 last year who got hot... maybe these are the teams this year...

I like flying under the radar. NC State does look strong. Michigan St love is because of Izzo. They love some Tom Izzo. No question he is a great coach but so is Pitino.

I started another thread on the "Michigan State love" subject... The guy's a great coach, but he's won one title, and that was 15 years ago.

Truth be told, he's more of a spoiler than a legit threat. His teams aren't generally uber-talented, but they play well together. They just never have enough talent and coaching to get over the top, save the one time.

But that same stuff could probably be said of a few other coaches and their teams currently...

At the risk of sounding like a complainer, the ESPN pundits indeed for some reason, just don't respect Louisville. Now they will say good things from time to time but when they are being candid, they dis the Cards. Like last night after the game, when I tuned into ESPN to see what was going to be said about the Cards victory, the host said Louisville, who didn't have much of a strong opposition in front of them, makes the sweet 16 with their win. When I heard that I exploded at the TV screen. All we were hearing was UNI was the better team and was likely to win. But after they lost, they're not much of a challenge for the woefully overseeded Louisville.

One would think with a hall of fame coach like Pitino and all the recent success he has had here, they would be more apt to praise the Cards and anticipate a run like this. Instead, they act like Chris Jones was Chris Paul and the reason Louisville won the many games they did. The only guy I've seen so far who hasn't been like this is Jay Bilas. He actually picked us last night to beat NC State. He said Snider has actually made the Cards offense flow better than Jones did. He may be right.

It doesn't surprise me that most of the sports media still is looking down on the Cards. Not because of the Cards abilities but because they are so invested in going against them. Remember, we're the overseeded ACC team with 26 wins that hasn't beaten a power conference team in the tourney yet. Neither has UK, Duke, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma.

Man i've given up that complaint about the national media and Louisville this goes back too the Crum days we just never have been a media darling. Compared to those other programs to just be honest we are in the shadow of a 500 lb gorilla who has a national following.

The irony is that U of L games tend to do better actual ratings than UK in the FF, so I dunno about the whole UK national following bit.

It IS eerie and a little disturbing how N. Iowa went from mid major darling and possible dark horse for the FF to just another small conference victim that no one cares about. Newsflash: They didn't lay an egg last night. That's what would happen to them about 8 times out of 10 vs. U of L. Some of the hyperbole about UNI was really hilarious on boards like this one. Stuff like "OMG, N. Iowa! They'll crush U of L, Nova, and even UVA en route to Indy!" I thought to myself "What am I missing?" I'm seeing a mid major team with an inflated record due to playing no one, with 1 quality scoring threat.

As far as MSU goes, how exactly were they so under seeded? At the very most one could argue for them being a 6 instead of a 7, possibly moving Providence down to the 7. I need to see a bit more though. MSU is a terrible FT shooting team and you cannot tell me it won't be their undoing. MSU shoots 63% from the line and OU shoots about 74%. If that game is close, I'm taking OU.
