...was excellent IMO. For those who couldn't tune in yesterday, the 3PM show hosted by John Ramsey was conducted at the Football Complex. He and Deener had each of the coaches speak on air about their signees with very few commercial interruptions.

Their signal is excellent as well wherever you are locally. And they had another radio crew set up across town at Jeff Walz's radio show just afterward. With nowhere near the resources of Clear Channel, they're doing a pretty job so far...

Until they have Howie on air I refuse to listen. 3 pm was way to late to cover the interesting information about recruiting. They should of had Howie on when the actual events were unfolding.

I'm sure they'll have Howie on at least as a guest, but you'll break sooner or later, with or without Howie. How can you not listen when they've got the coverage of something you want to know about? You'll listen. It's not like you can get that content someplace else. With their deal with UofL they'll have stuff the other guys couldn't get if they wanted to.

I just wish they'd get their technical act together. Yesterday between 5-5:30 I had to quit listening because somebody had Ramsey's mic up so loud it sounded horrific. And this morning the loudness was all over the map. Deener was way louder than the callers. I kept having to turn my volume up and down depending onw ho was talking. The sound on the AM was a lot more consistent but it wasn't coming in well downtown so it sucked either way.

Howie was on 93.9 this morning, fwiw.

My wife was telling me that she was riding around in the car yesterday listening to Ramsey and 93.9. And she'd punch up 790 AM anytime a commercial break--and there weren't many--came up on 93.9. Every time she went to 790, THEY had on a commercial. (She didn't say, but my guess "testosterone".)

The Dogs are half commercials nowadays...

Howie on again now.

93.9 is catching up for lost time.

The Underdogs spend 50% of the air time talking about BodyShapes Medical, 30% of air time talking about security and 20% about UofL sports.

Reportedly, Howie's on 93.9 again at 5:30 PM.

He owns that station.

(Or Jason has influence!...)

I dodn't waste my time listening to those Body Shape Medical clowns anymore.

Outfits like Body Shapes Medical are a racket. When the truth comes out about these types of companies in a few years a lot of people are going to have egg on their face. Heck one of these outfits has an owner that went bankrupt in another business not medical related. Scary so many people are dishing out big money for these rackets.

Ramsey talked to every coach! Enjoyed their take on their personnel.

Just giving you guys a heads up that there has recently been an epidemic of heroin addicts that are tip top physical and mental health because of hormone therapy breaking into people's houses all over the country. They will steal anything they can get their hands on, including household appliances and copper wiring. In the unfortunate event that something like this happens to you, I recommend heading to BodyShapes Medical to take care of any resulting depression, contacting Mid America Security to get a system, Bargain Supply to get great deals on some appliances, and Allen Electric to replace any copper wiring stolen.

Also, don't forget to click it or ticket.

Looks like LPT fans are taking over the Dogs' listening audience.

There go their ratings...

I turned on 93.9 after work yesterday... There was an acoustic guitar version of John Legend's "All of Me" playing. I thought at first it was just filler, lead in to the show from a commercial. But it kept on going. I quickly became agitated, as that song blows, and the guitar version was even worse. It turns out the guy picking the strings was a UofL golfer. I didn't care. It was a horrible moment in local sports talk radio history. And if I may, John Ramsey is not a fun listen. Huge Card fan, sure, that's great, but he bores me, doesn't seem genuine. He's not an old guy, but he seems too old for what he's doing.

Glad I am not the only one. I am really trying to like it... but it's very difficult not to switch back to 680 on the way home.

I am with you. I really wanted to like Ramsey when I first heard about his show on this board. I guess I was given an expectation that it would be something that it is not. I enjoy the fact that it's all Louisville unlike any other show in this area that all tend to cater to Big Blew but I just find him unappealing. He thinks his funny and is a constant name dropper like he's some big shot around town. I hadn't even heard of him until a couple of months ago. It's a shame. It seemed like such a good idea but it bores me more than entertains me.

I have no personal interest in the show, but I listen to a lotta sports talk shows. My experience is you have to give them time to develop. A little patience is in order...

John Ramsey is just too fast. He talks too fast and switches topics on a dime. He acts like his radio show is in a race and he doesn't want one millisecond of dead air.

Ane he doesn't really have an opinion or take on anything other than, "UofL is great and I agree with whatever they do all the time".

And speaking of agreeing; he agrees with EVERYONE! I don't how that's possible. After every caller or guest statement he says, "...and I agree..". "Thank you so...SO very very very much for calling... and I agree 100%", after every call.

And he tries to be funny. Tries....

I kinda "agree" but I kinda don't...

I hear Ramsey, so I know what you're talking about. But what do you expect him to do on a strongly pro-U of L station? Who's he supposed to be confrontational with or in-the-guy's-face? I've heard most of his guests so far, and I don't know who he's interviewed that I said afterward "what a bunch of softballs!" If he has a newspaper columnist on there--someone like that--he'll have a chance. As abrasive as I am, I don't recall a single guest he's had on yet that I wouldn't have been cordial to/with.

Again, let's give the guy and his station some time. Rome wasn't built in a day...
