Eastern Kentucky game

It was a great day for opening day at Jim Patterson. The team played well and the weather was excellent. There was a number of freshman and new guys who got an at bat or pitched on the mound. Home runs by Lucas and Crain highlighted the day as well as a dominant pitching performance from all the pitchers. Jake Sparger started, and after a shaky first settled down for a nice 4 inning performance. Zack and Nick Burdi both pitched today and had great days. When this team plays good defense, they can be very good again. Mike White and freshman Logan Taylor made great plays in the outfield, and the starting infield did a good job. Good to see a 13-1 victory on the home opener.

Great start. I'm definitely going to be there for 2 of the 3 games this weekend against Western Michigan.
