Douche bag Dakich

The wannabe comedian Dakich has always been an ass. He can rip Pitino and say he should be fired all he wants but if you can't at least have a little empathy for 2 great young men that had nothing to do with this and were unaware of the allegations when they chose to come here then you're a pig. Dakich is indeed.

He also said that Lee and Lewis were in good situations where they were so they took a risk...also said if you break rules you need to be punished, whether innocent or not...

On a positive side, Stephen A Smith said some favorable things. Supported Pitinos suggestion that there should be monetary penalties against universities not innocent players.

I just never get these people bringing up Pitino's personal failures that only came to light because of a criminal extortion. Everyone with a brain knows adultery is a sin or morally wrong. A lot of people have had this weakness but most don't have it displayed to the world. It had nothing to do with the university. It was a personal issue with Pitino and his family. He had been with Louisville for a year and no one including himself knew how this move to Louisville was going to work out. I think in all the years since those dark days, Pitino has more than proven his worth and redemption. The program has done it the right way and there's been no cheating to get recruits or to keep players eligible.

What transpired with McGee and the scandal is more of a extension of the culture rot that we see all over the country. I don't think it was about luring recruits to UofL but of status and acceptability amongst peers. The possible repercussions of this behavior just didn't measure up to the gains of acceptance and respect McGee and whoever were looking for. That's why it just doesn't make sense why they did something so dumb. Someone would talk someday, but like most young people today, that was something they would worry about later.

People like Dakich only see what they want to see because they already hold a bias against Rick Pitino. It could be for many reasons because Rick does and has ruffled a lot of feathers in his career. But his personal marriage failure should be off limits and not part of some pattern because of this current scandal. Although it's lurid what happened was impermissible recruiting violations. Instead of getting shoes or clothes, these recruits were getting lap dances paid for. I think only a idiot would think any head coach would accept that as some way of getting some commitments. Judgements can indeed be levied for not knowing this was going on and stopping it or even for hiring someone who was capable of doing it. However, adding Pitino's marriage failures some 14 years ago to this scandal is irresponsible and simple hatred for Pitino. Those in the media who like or respect Pitino will not talk about what happened to Pitino with Karen Sypher because it has nothing to do with the current situation.

I'd love for Dakich to spew his crap to someone's face. He won't though because he is a wuss and a pos. I hope that the reasonable people at ESPN call him out.

It is amazing that UL fans have been super critical of NCAA violations and how they are enforced. Now the shoe is on the other foot the rules have to be changed. These programs are huge corporations and coaches cannot know everything.

You are way off base on this one. I don't see a soul here arguing that it didn't happen. We know we are going to get hit with sanctions and probation. The main issue here has been the administration's "cynical preemptive strike" (in the words of Mike De Courcy) penalizing this year's team and various talking heads' reaction to the situation.

You need a course in reading comprehension.

Yesterday I was flipping through the basketball games and while announcing the UK Florida game I heard Gottlieb trashing Lewis and Lee, saying he didn't feel any sympathy for them because they weren't loyal to their initial universities. I think that is the most idiotic thing possible. They paid their dues by playing 4 years for those train wrecks. Cleveland state is 7-18 and Drexel is 3-20. Let these guys have a chance at their dreams. People who say the done and ones are the worst thing ever for college basketball are just stupid. At least they are actually student athletes. One and dones are just guys who couldn't make it academically at a university anyway and just there for basketball.

Indiana has a 5th year player averaging 8 and 6, ironically enough. Last season, there were over 400 transfers in Div 1 basketball. It would help if these guys did some homework.

Didn't Gottlieb transfer from ND to OK State? Pot. Kettle.

Maybe someone should bring up Dakich's affair with the Bowling Green Softball Coach while he was still married and Head Basketball Coach. People who live in glass houses crack me up...
