Coveted 2023 prospects DJ Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw will reportedly be attending Big Blue Madness next month. As for where U of L stands in their recruitments, a visit to Louisville Live the following weekend doesn't appear to be in the cards.

Not surprising so over him . His father DJ does not like U of L he wants him to go to the NBA farm circus period.KP called it the X men for a reason. I'm more than impressed with the recruits for 2023 we are in on .
Honestly didn't think the kid actually knew where he wanted to go yet, despite all the speculation. Sounds like he has made up his mind. A new era starts when the black cloud of the NCAA crap is finally gone. Our list is already impressive. One kid won't break us.
I’ll get slings and arrows for this but was Milt Wagner really the best hire for that position if his grandson wasn’t gonna come here? It puts KP and UofL in an awkward light. They had to know it would look really bad if they hired Milt, and DJ didn’t come to UofL. Just my opinion. I’m now ready to face the message board firing squad lol.
i ill just say this it was no secret that for years former players especially 80's guys felt they were shut out from the program. And these are the same guys that have shown the most consistent loyalty to the program despite how they were treated. Milt along with so many others of that era had jobs in other schools and cities, And guess what they returned to this city to live their lives and still support the school. So if any fan is upset because Milt was hired thinking it was for 1 kid and and few months well you are entitled to that. But i will gurantee this Milt wlll still be here as long as KP is . This is his dog who wouldn't hire their man.
Who better to be the Liason than Milt he more than qualified. And those of you that feel some type way about KP for whatever reason are going to try and keep this stupid narrative .Only people that gonna think it looks bad are those with a driven narrative that never wanted KP. Support the man one player is not going to break this program.
And if you listen to alot of the diffrent era players Milt is the one besides Maybin and Griff that they all seem to really know and like.

For the record, I was and continue to be a big proponent of KP being the UofL head basketball coach. Milt hasn’t been on a basketball staff since 2014. This position was occupied by Reece Gaines who is also a beloved Cards alum.
I have no problem with the hiring of Milt. I have no problem with DJ going to UK. Families are complicated so who knows what their relationship is really like.

I don’t think it looks bad for Louisville if DJ goes somewhere else but it does look bad that DJ and Milt that he would choose Cal or somebody else over his grandfather. However I have no problem with Milt being a part of our staff.
It is a big deal and imo says a lot about people. I think KP will land high end kids but so far none of his relationships have helped him. I think that has surprised him.

I’ll revisit this now that DJ officially going to UK. This is super awkward with Milt being hired.

I have no idea what the real responsibilities are of the Director of Player Development and Alumni Relations but if it is mostly irrelevant then maybe it would be a good spot for an up and coming coach.
I agree I don’t care who goes to sUcK they aren’t going to win any titles anyway. Cal gets the top recruits every year and he can’t do anything with them. It’s almost like a comedy show all these top recruits go there and they can bring home the title. You have to wonder is Cal that bad of a coach or are the recruits just overrated?

Payne’s tenure off to a terrible start. No high level recruiting (as was promised) and current squad (to date) couldn’t play dead in a Western.
Hiring Milt seemed like a desperate play at the time. I’m glad he’s part of our program but the best thing he could bring to the team didn’t materialize.
KP is a great relationship guy, but to say he was the main reason top players went to UK is shortsighted. Not a fan but most any guy with a UK shirt and a telephone could get players to Lexington.
