He should have never had to handle it. He knew what the optics would look like. With that said, I would have mentioned I had a daughter that was a realtor as well. When you have a local newspaper that hates the local university, you have to be on your toes.Gee “zipp” - haven’t you complained in multiple threads about how you have moved beyond TJ - and just wish that other posters would too - since he’s no longer the AD? Seems that is just another line of bullshit that you use to try and weasel your way out of the corners you back yourself into.
Based on the article, seems as though Tyra handled this in a very professional manner. Kudos to him for realizing the unfortunate optics of it and handling it professionally.
I don’t disagree. Despite that, glad for the university’s sake he got out in front of it and took care of it the way that he did.He should have never had to handle it. He knew what the optics would look like.
I'm with Zipp on this one. VERY bad look!I don’t disagree. Despite that, glad for the university’s sake he got out in front of it and took care of it the way that he did.
That was dumb then and this is dumb now. Unless she isn't actually a realtor and can't properly do her job this is a huge non-story. PR is the biggest thing that Tyra needs to work on imo. This could have easily been spun positively by having the university put out press release about how Tyra's daughter is helping the new coaches get settled in here in Louisville etc.. Most fans don't care anyhow and the few like Zipp were going to criticize the move anyhow. He also needs to learn when to tell the CJ to kick rocks. There is little need to be cordial with them, it doesn't help so what it the point.
What really looks bad is that his daughter only sold one house in 20 months. Not like she was a seasoned realtor selling many upscale houses a year.Bad look for Tyra. On the flip side, this is the type of stuff Jurich was doing for his and Petrino kids. That was dumb then and this is dumb now. Thanks, but 'zipp' can do his own talking (as you know)......Most fans don't care anyhow and the few like Zipp were going to criticize the move anyhow...
This was a chance to not feed the troll, but oh well...
I'm really confused by the premise here. Tyra went above and beyond and showed excellent leadership by having his daughter donate every penny of the proceeds. If she didn't do that, then maybe it could be a talking point (still completely illegitimate in my opinion) but since it was donated, it is a complete non-story.
That's because "Vince" said this stuff is a big deal. I guess his little princess didn't get the family memo...It was okay for Jurich to hook up his family and Petrino's family, yet Tyra's daughter does one deal and its a Federal crime.
As I said, the incident in a vacuum isn't a big deal--nor is how "Vince" managed it. He obviously could have done worse by ignoring it or covering it up.I think hypocrisy is too strong of a word being used in the “AD Tyra real estate incident”. What we should be centered on is whether he “did the right thing in the end” and, guess what, he did. Whatever money was made, according to “news” reports, was given back to UofL. Hey I would have been more than willing to help out my kids too if I had been the AD at UofL. Family members are our major concern in life and I think the hypocrisy is assuming that isn’t the case here. At the end of the day, doing the right thing is what’s important and that’s what happened. Jeeze guys there are a lot of more important things going on in life than this crap that Tim Sullivan and the curious urinal blew out of proportion. Of course, UofL falling all over themselves to “correct” this situation is kinda silly too but understandable...
Tomorrow red-white scrimmage at 1 PM!...Well zipp I’d like to report that most of the “clown show” has left and I just happen to believe UofL just might be on the right track. Of course, gruesome is still around and I’d love to see him moved out. Perhaps he’s been “disarmed”. I sure hope so. But you can’t live in the past and to move forward we must be positivee. But that’s just me. See ya at the ball park...
Faaaaaar your AD "Vince"
That's right, FARRRR THAT SONOFABEECH. He prolly one them thar sissy quors!
That and the size of the commission were important to HOW BADLY she wanted it. I've watched agents of all types operate....I didn’t know the length of time a person held their certification or how active they were in the trade on a day to day basis was important...
Love this quote at times like these......who retired as a school principal then gets a real estate license...
LOL at the clown changing from one subject he doesn't know a damn thing about to another one....So what if it was the harbours maintenance supervisor who pushed the old lady in the pool. Why was he there harassing owners in the first place? Why wasn't he fired after this incident since he had already received written warnings about his temper and treatment of others in the past?...
