I saw a post that said something about Jerry Eaves making a statement that Pitino should go. Does anyone know if that is true?

If so, that is very disturbing to hear that Eaves would take that kind of stance and make that type of a public statement based on what has taken place so far. I just do not understand why an ex U of L player, that I always thought was proud to be a Cardinal, would turn his back on the program without waiting for more information to come forward.

He is proud to be a Cardinal and maybe he is looking out for the Program.

Yes, he did, during his radio show last week. He is not a CRP fan.

Go Cards!

What exactly has Jerry Eaves done lately? He can have an opinion but he has a two-bit talk show and a two-bit coaching job. I guess he's trying to generate attention for his show and himself. I remember his press conference for his latest upcoming coaching gig, he basically said he was going to reinvent the way basketball is played. Think he has quite the ego!

Jerry doesn't hide his loyalty to coach Crum. Rick coming in and the way alot of fans felt when Crum had to go was very hard. Jerry probaly should have kept his personal thoughts too himself like that, until more concrete dammning evidence is produced if any at all. Maybe jerry knows some things being a ex-player and coach that we don't know!

Why doesn't Jerry Eaves talk about the last 3-4 years or so of Crum's tenure? You know, the years he collected a check and little else? Or maybe the Larry Gay fiasco. We haven't had the perfect coach! Or better yet, lets talk about Jerry's record as a head coach? I'm thankful for his years of service and the altering of KiKi Vandeweghe's layup but that was thirty-five years ago!

Jerry Eaves is flat out wrong. Unless he knows something , he is out of line.

That being said, he's earned the right to be wrong. He put in a lot of work, on the
court for the University of Lousiville.

No need to bash him, Andre, T-Will.

Mr Eaves will apologize, and feel stupid for the suggestion.

I wont denigrate a former Cards great, for his faulty opinion.

You would also have to imagine that if you follow in the coaching profession you would have some aspirations or dreams of becoming the head coach one day. Unfortunately that opportunity is not possible for jerry and maybe there is some resentment that CRP has "dis honored" the position. Don't think Denny had nearly the social issues, not his players but him personally.

I doubt Eaves will ever apologize but I have to go along with Kerry and say his dedication to the program earns him some latitude. He's a former Denny Crum player. He has no ties to Rick Pitino.

I appreciate what Jerry Eaves did for UL as a player. I respect him for that. But a knee jerk reaction before any evidence is presented or confirmed is just rash, dumb, and plain wrong.

Does Jerry Eaves really still have a show? Wow, I guess anyone can get a show. I checked it out one day since he is a former Card and all but it was just horrendous. Not surprising that he wants Rick gone since he is a big Denny guy. They should pull him from the air immediately if that's the crap he's spewing.

Eaves is a Crum lover. That era is over, let's move on!

Lobbying? With his coaching resume? Even Eaves is not that delusional, hopefully! I have to wonder if he might have pitched his son as a walk on and has a sore ass if they were turned away? Just a theory, I have not heard that.

I think what he said is shared by alot of former Cards. Darrell Griffith all but said the same thing. Part of that is a desire to bring an NBA team to Louisville.

What Jerry said had everything to do with his knowledge of how programs are run and specifically this program (his words not mine). Anyone that actually heard him (I'm guessing very few in this thread) would understand that.

It has nothing to do with NBA teams or for that matter, Coach Crum vs. Pitino.

If you're going to condemn him without learning what he said go right ahead but don't pretend you know what you're talking about.

I will say this I listened Jerry show for a while, but i got turned off he applaueded coach Cal a little too much for my taste. And one fault that i've always had with Rick he has never reached out to any former Crum players. hasn't hired any of them Davenport doesn't count either. I think Jerry at one point had expressed assist coacaching job with Rick and guess what nope.

I dont listen to his show but I did hear a quote from him on the radio the other day. Afternoon underdogs maybe? Anyways, it's no secret that Griffith has and contunes to work with J Bruce Mller to try and lure a franchise to Louisville. For some reason, that rankled Pitino, I guess he wasnt interested in sharing the city. I wasn't condemning him, just hearing what everybody else was saying.
