I just want to see if anyone else saw the piece ESPN did on Alabama RB Josh Jacobs? In the piece he said that at his announcement he was waiting to get a call from Nick Saban and after he got said call he picked Alabama. Last time I checked that only happens on NFL draft night where you get a call from a team that they are going to draft you. Did anyone else catch that part?

Is this insinuating that Jacobs got paid? Pretty sure he was just waiting to find out if he had a scholarship. He was pretty low on the board IIRC.

I wasn't , implying that he got paid at all. I am a single Dad that had to struggle after my divorce, so his story hit me close to home. I was just asking about that situation because Oklahoma would have kept him closer to his son. When he said Saban called him it just seemed odd, because that scenario normally happens on draft night of the NFL. I thought that in college the coaches offer you and then wait for you to announce.

He could have set his commitment date based on when saban told him he could give him a for sure answer. Just guessing though. Did he have an offer from both?
