Defense is appalling

That was the most confused, out of position defense I’ve witnessed in a CFB game. First, right at the snap on a lot of plays, a D-lineman would be looking back at a linebacker confused, the linebackers numerous times would be holding their arms up in confusion.

Second, the entire defensive box was packed in to tight making outside run and pass plays to easy to pass up.

Lastly, no adjustments were made! At least in the first half (I chose not to watch that garbage for another half).

I won’t even start on the offensive play calling, QB’s decision making or poor line play.

Louisville will be lucky to win 3 games!

I did not realize this but we have co-defensive coaches, Brian Brown and Wesley McGriff. Whoever was responsible for that lack of tackling and coverages needs to be replaced by the other guy, since we can't go out and hire anyone at this point. Need to show the fans, we are serious about football.

We need to start running a basic 4-2-5 or 4-3 defense and stop this 3 man front shit.
Exactly. If your linebackers play too deep like Louisville’s did it’s easy yards to the outside. All you have to do is runoff or block the corners and seal down on the linebacker just like Syracuse did. It’s not that hard, more men in the box. Louisville played defense to take away deep passes by dropping everyone not on the LOS way too deep so the QB just took the yards given to him. Hell pay me half of what they make and I could do better than that.

No pass rush and no tight pass coverages. Both together is a formu;la for defeat. You can survive by improving at least one of them and be really competitive improving both.
They got some pressure but got pinned inside so the QB just dumped the ball to a back running a flare or wheel route and the linebackers were no where to be found. I’ve never seen such a weird alignment as it was almost like we were in prevent defense the entire game?

Puzzling for sure. I'm having trouble understanding how some teams know how to bottle up Malik's running but our defense allows "running" QBs to have a field day. Our LBer group seems a bit slow.
