Johnson is the sort of talent that Jefferson Co does not see very often. Ballard literally face-guarded David the entire game as a way to make someone else on Trinity’s team beat them ...... Rocks did just that rather decisively.
Chris Renner (Ballard’s coach) is good, and he had so much respect for Johnson that he decided that beating Trinity required denying Johnson any offensive half court touches. Sabo (Trinity coach) reported that David allowed himself to play the role of an effective decoy the entire game, which allowed Trinity a 3 on 4 offensive advantage in the half court. UL opponents will not have that luxury next year.
