Interesting.....This fits with his play. Hope he gets it together. He apparently was late to the shootaround for the 2nd time this season, so he was held out of the game.
Pure guess, but I suspect VJ will end up leaving as a grad transfer (if he is in line to graduate), and Perry will either grow up or leave. I would prefer he grow up because he has the raw skills that coach Mack can sharpen with his teachings. It's really up to Perry. It will be interesting whether Perry or VJ is on the roster next year.
I think Perry’s overall play and attitude can be summed up in two words.... Christian Cunningham.
I actually think Mack getting Cunningham and Cunningham playing so well as thrown Perry for a loop. I believe Perry thought he was going to be a key figure or have a much larger role on this team. I think we all did.
I think Cunningham’s play has impacted Perry. Perry never thought he would get beat out by a grad transfer from Samford. It might sound crazy but makes the most sense.
Coach Chris Mack continues to impress me. Discipline is a part of LIFE and if Perry can't provide his own, then it is good to see someone cares enough to provide it for him. It's a good lesson. Sure hope Perry understands and learns from it.
It appears VJ is contributing by focusing on rebounding and defense. He gave us good minutes yesterday.Pure guess, but I suspect VJ will end up leaving as a grad transfer (if he is in line to graduate), and Perry will either grow up or leave. I would prefer he grow up because he has the raw skills that coach Mack can sharpen with his teachings. It's really up to Perry.
