Translation: we continue to use almost entire clock, therefore limiting the number of possessions the other team can score…
Sorry but huh? We shoot at a faster clip than ever. You know, the new fast pace offense?
Defense isn't the problem. We actually play very good defense until we stop scoring. The guys get down on themselves when they continue to miss shots and their defense suffers.
Offense is why we lost to Furman and DePaul. If these guys start shooting better things may get a whole lot better.
That is impressive and agree if and when the offense starts working they will be a Top 25 team. I still think this "play faster" thing sounds like a contrived gimmick but I'm willing to let the cake bake. Might as well root it on, right?
Well, we're due for one of those 14 for 29 on 3's games. We would probably look like a top 10 team.
Locke 5 for 9 from 3
Cross 4 for 7 from 3
Rest of the team goes 5 for 13.
Fans would be posting this could be a dangerous team to play in the tournament.
It all comes down to three things in my opinion.
1. Being smarter with shot selection.
2. Figuring out what's wrong with Sam and Withers.
3. Turnovers.
Defense is solid. It hasn't been spectacular but a happy group of shooters could change that.
Rebounding is excellent. Best we have seen here in awhile.
If we shore up the turnovers and shoot around 38 percent from the 3, there will be no more games like DePaul.
