It's starting to look like Charlie's fate will play out much like all the other coaches who left UofL looking for bigger and better things. Getting smoked by Notre Dame and looking completely outmatched isn't helping his cause in Austin. The old man billionaire booster had a real problem with Charlie getting the job in the first place, and now the heat is getting hotter by the game.

Good luck coach. I sure hope it was worth it.

The funny thing is the AD (Patterson) who hired CS is on thin Ice also. But not for hiring Charlie. Apparently the guy is a real a-hole and has already pissed off the wrong people. There could be a major house cleaning in Austin soon.

He should have done a little more research before just taking a big time job. Some jobs just aren't what they appear to be on the surface. They only want local blood running things down there. Anyone else is like a turd in a punch bowl in Texas. I called it as soon as he took the job. I gave him 3 seasons max then he would be looking for another job either by firing or quitting while his seat was hot. It's a no-win situation down there unless your a part of the inner circle. ....Charlie ain't in it.

What a sellout. I find myself losing more and more respect for Charlie each time that He does something stupid like this. Focus on your game planning and winning ball games Charlie. Don't worry about trying to fit in with the rednecks of Texass.

He use to be my favorite Coach that coached here. I just find it hard to respect him anymore when He does things like this.

Looks like Texass fans are also losing respect for him. They are all ready putting him on the hot seat.

Get Well Soon Charlie.

With his recruiting ties in Florida, IMO, he will be an assistant DC for one of the programs down there in the near future. Or a head coach at a smaller program in that region.

Go Cards!

That was a big win situation for Charlie. What are you talking about? He is walking off with a cool $25MM no matter what and that is what matters to Charlie in the end. The money. He cashed in big time. Whether he gets run off at this point is a smaller point. He is set for life.

Thing is...with the offensive debacles that he seems "Sattled with"(couldn't resist) what offensive players would want to sign on with him going forward if he's the head coach?

He was set for life way before that. He could have had $4 mil+ a year here for the next 10 yrs. if he stayed. Charlie got what he wanted, as of today anyway, Ol Bevo ain't too happy with him. Mess with the bull, you may get the horns...

Watched Charlie's show on LHN last night. He barely looked the host in the eye. He's not having fun. The curse lives on.

If our DC gets the Texas Head Coaching job, would we want Strong back as our DC?
Would TJ take him back?

I said it when he left, and I'll say it again, thank you Coach Strong for pulling us immediately out of the Steve Kragthorpe nosedive, for the blood, sweat, and tears you and the staff put into the program for four years, and for the fine young student athletes you left the program with when you left. Best wishes for you and your family going forward.

YEP!
But still a mistake.

The good news about "The Curse" is that CBP has experienced its rath first hand. Doubt he will ever want to be on the wrong side of that again!!!

I second that emotion!

He will never be able to please them Football is a religion at Texas. I hope he and his family can get out of there in one piece.
Strong relieves Watson of all play calling duties...seat getting warm
