Could you imagine if Izzo coached UK

Could you imagine if a girl's 6th or 7th region coach had that team!

U-Conns Women's Coach would have at least 5 Titles...As would Coach K, Tom Izzo, Rick Pitino, Roy Williams, Brad Stevens, Billy Donovan, Bo Ryan, Bruce Pearl, Thad Motta, John Beline, Gregg Marshall, Shaka Smart Etc...Etc...Etc...!!!

If Izzo coached this year's UK team they would not have been undefeated.

But they would have been a lock to win the championship.

In dominating fashion. The ND and Wisc games would not have been close.

The real truth is that while coaching at least 20 Burger Boys Cal has lost five times at the end if the season to teams who had a grand total of one McDonalds player between. This year's team alone had six players who were either 1st or 2nd at their position coming out of high school. His coaching ability showed Saturday when his team had three straight trips on the offensive end at crunch time that resulted in shot clock violations. With all of that offensive talent KY struggled all year to score from a set offense. He probably had the greatest group of frontline bodies ever assembled and they only managed 22 rebounds against a team severely limited in size and numbers.

All he did this year is manage time to keep the mist players happy. They were life and death against the only two decent teams they played in their last 25 games. Although the SEC somehow managed to get five bids, their SEC compatriots were gone by Friday on the first weekend of the tourney. Who did they really beat this year? At the end of the most important game his kids had played, Cal exhibited his eternal paranoia by going after officials and bringing out the inner punk in all of his players.

Izzo would not have had the same rosters, so it's really hard to say what he would have done @ UK this decade.

The majority of those who signed up did so through the Calipari connection. And that first class of Wall and Cousins was crucial in setting the groundwork for future recruiting classes.

It is possible Izzo would have had a number of really tough years, it's hard to say. Patterson might have headed to the NBA without all those reinforcements coming in, and man, they might have been terrible first year relying on Stevenson and Ramon Harris types.

I mean really, Izzo could have been a disaster. Seems highly unlikely given his pedigree, but it is all at one place.

Who knows?
