Although I have never been a huge fan of Rick Bozich (mainly because I think he is a fairly average and boring sports writer) I have always thought him to be pretty fair. Not anymore.

I've been hearing him on local radio with more of an edge lately towards Coach Pitino almost to the point of getting snippy with anyone who wants to wait before passing judgment on anyone not named Andre McGee in this mess.

Sounds to me like Bozich is taking out a grudge or at the very least trying to be big time while the spotlight is in town.

Hard to imagine this guy going any further in his mind made scenarios of Rogue Rick Pitino and the reasons for success that Louisville Basketball has had the last few years.

This guy's head wouldn't fit in a piano case right now even if his talent would fit nicely in a thimble.

It was amazing I read it too. He is pretty much saying Pitino knew all about it and pushed his staff to break rules.

There is no way fresh off the Sypher fiasco Rick Pitino would turn right around and push this kind of thing. It is hard to believe this is the best Bozich could put together when there are so many different angles to write.

There is no doubt McGee acted on his own with whatever got put together. Even a chimp can see that.

Yet this professional media man Bozich writes an article claiming Pitino may have authorized this... Amazing man just hilarious.

He's an IU guy.

If he wanted to take Pitino to task for being less of an off the court leader than he is on it that would be fair.

But to suggest Rick pushed the buttons?

Laughable.

Don't generally read Bozich stuff.

I just get a kick watching him try to figure out what to do with his mouth while on camera and his sidekick is talking. Smile?...maybe. Pucker?...sometimes. Lips closed...for a second.

Stated many times my disregard for Bozich. Never pushed local sports. Has always " Courier Journaled " UL sports. Wrote an extensive column after Lousville beat Alabama in Tempe as to why he would not vote UL as a top ten team. No fan here.

Bozich could turn out to be right, but maybe he should have waited for that to be confirmed before reporting it instead of baseless speculation? naaaaa..

I'm taking a wait and see what unfolds approach before saying much on this. The only thing I know for 100% sure is in the end, it won't change my love for the university or the sports programs. Let the chips fall where they may. I'm a Cardinals fan forever.

My concern is where did the money come from? Assuming the allegations are true as stated (of course that is still to be determined)... but if true...where was the $$$? I'm sure it's not McGee's. A booster's? (most likely) A slush fund from the Cardinal Club (possibly)? Expenses from RP or TJ? (I highly doubt that)

IMO, this is one of those things that goes on at many schools. That does not make it right, just common. Enough so that it is possible it was known and ignored. I don't think RP or TJ orchestrated this... but I doubt McGee was a lone gunman here.

It will be interesting to see what the various independent investigations turn up. It probably won't be pretty; but I doubt it will have a long-term impact.

I do agree about potential booster - when I was referencing "acting alone" it was meant as in regards to what portion of the coaching staff was involved with getting the women around.

I don't rule out a booster at all, but I don't know if there has been a paper trail of $ just yet to begin looking at that. I know there has been mention of a wire from CA to KY but it's rather vague at this time, and the throwing of $1 bills is something even the kids might be able to afford.

It will sort itself out, there are too many investigators for the truth to not reach the surface.
