I have a question about transfer Steven Enoch????

According to The Cardinal Connect:
("At 6-10, 250-pounds, UConn transfer Steven Enoch will give the Cards some needed size when he becomes eligible in 2018.")

Does that mean he is eligible at the beginning of January 2018, or not until the 2018-2019 season.

Enoch has to sit out this upcoming season so he'll be eligible in the 2018-2019 season.
