Big game tomorrow to say the least.

The Cards started off the game at UNC on fire and things just snowballed from there. Cards had it going from inside and out... played great defense and kept UNC off the offensive glass. UNC was never able to really get their legs under them.

Cards will see a different team tomorrow. Can they replicate that same performance? Probably not to that level but if they can keep UNC off the glass and limit their transition baskets... I like the Cards chances.

The numbers from the first game @ UNC (recipe for a win):

Cards shot 52% from field. 42% from 3. Cards had 30 defensive rebounds and did an excellent job keeping UNC off the offensive boards.

UNC shot 35% from field. 14% from 3.

Win the rebounding war and limit transition points from UNC. Do that and we are in good shape.

Hi Cards fans.

I bolded what's important in your post as far as the Heels are concerned. We usually are constructed to be able to deal with off shooting nights. That is not the case this year. We are completely dependent on hitting shots. When we do hit shots, there are very few teams that can beat us. But when we don't, we can look downright miserable and subject to an ass whoopin'.

Here's to a clean, hard-fought game.

Cards shot lights out first time, can't expect that again though it could happen. I believe the UNC PG was banged up in the 1st half - which was another break.

I suspect this thing is up for grabs at the 10 min mark in the 2nd half. Will then come down to who executes.

UNC has been playing really well since the 1st match. We may have lit a fire in them.

I heard UNC radio guy on our local sports talk going over the game and he noted that in every postgame presser that Roy has delivered since our first meeting - he has mentioned the Louisville game everytime.

“We learned a lot from the Louisville game...”, “we’ve got back to rebounding since the Louisville game...”, etc.

The UNC radio guy said it’s been unmistakable that it’s consumed/motivated Roy that no one has ever come into Chapel Hill and delivered that type of ass whooping to him. They will be focused.

But so will we.

I don't expect us to play as well as last time nor them as bad. Which means a very close game . My theory when two teams are equally matched as i think these are. Smart money says go with the home team. Caveat though to that when equal teams usually go head to head it's a 50/50 game split hard to beat your equal twice. I'm nervous but i'll be their cheering.

Their PG picked up a quick 2nd foul and had to sit most of the 1st half. His absence threw them off, plus IMO they weren't giving our guys much credit after our fiasco @ Pitt. We definitely have their attention now.

What i like most about a majority of our fan base we can be neutral and honest about our teams. Most of us are sensible and do not let our fandom overshadow common sense. We understand and know that UNC will be a much different opponent than last game. Unlike that school who's fans always think they can't lose.

Tar Heels will be playing without two key reserves in "Leaky" Black and big man Sterling Manley who also missed the first matchup....It's always tough to win on the road in the ACC....The Cardinals beat the Heels in every facet of the game in Chapel Hill, and the Tar Heels have yet to lose an ACC road game....

Buckle up, this is going to be a good one!

Forgot about White picking up 2 early fouls. True about the Pitt game from a UNC standpoint. Cards came locked in and had it going on both ends in response to the Pitt game.

I remember the Cards defense being really sticky in the first game... Carolina never really got into their run/transition style game in the first matchup. I look for UNC to trap and press more in this game. It was somewhat effective late in the game and we did not handle it well.

I also remember Enoch being able to post up right in front of the basket for easy ones at UNC. Enoch and Sutton combined for 34 points and 21 rebounds in the first game. Advantage inside?

Mack appears to be preparing these guys for a fight this afternoon knowing that UNC is going to come in with a chip on their shoulder.

I don’t expect this game to play out like the first one but I think the Cards will be locked in and prepared for a battle. Should be a great game.

What's going on with Black? He's a good player.

Leaky Black rolled his ankle late in the game against our last opponent, GT. It looked pretty bad. I suspect we’ll be without him for 2-3 more weeks. And while he is only a freshman averaging less than 10 mpg, he’s a valuable sub for us. He can play 4 positions for us, is a great, lengthy defender and a reliable ball handler and decision maker.
