Cards sweep Bulls

Cards sweep Bulls with a win on Sunday, 9-5. Kidston got the start but needed help. Drew Harrington (FR) got the win and is now 3-0. Filomeno closed but not a save situation. Also UCF dropped 2 to Cougars and are a gaame back in the loss column but are 1 game ahead because they have played one more series than us. Remember that UCF has the head to head against us.

Cards are now 37-11! Now getting quality pitching from middle guys!!

We are in control. If we sweep at Temple and at home against UC, we win the AAC outright.

UCF is at UConn for their final three games. Any combination of six UofL wins and UCF losses cinch it.

More good news:

Five of the seven teams ranked ahead of us lost this week:
#1 Virginia lost the only game they played.
#3 ULL lost today.
#4 CalPolyester lost twice.
#5 LSU lost twice.
#7 South Carolina lost twice.


#2 Oregon State is 3-0 this week.
#6 FSU is 3-0 this week.
#8 Cards are 4-0 this week and on an 10 game streak.

... and more good news:

We have two more OOC games - IU and Vandy. They each have only 12 losses. We have an opportunity to pad our post season seeding by beating those two - esp. IU. They are one of three teams to beat us twice this year. Beating IU at this juncture will speak well for us.

Bottom line is that every game from here on out is very important.
