Cards got the season started off with a bang as Gardner hits a walkoff HR in the 10th. Cards were down early to WVU as Filomeno got off to a rocky start. He went 4 innings giving up 7 hits and 5 runs. HRs by Rosenbaum, Kay and Gardner. Sturgeon was 2-4. Jay Sparger did a great job in relief going 5 innings and only giving up 3 hits and 1 more run. Burdi who came in to pitch the 10th got the benefit of the walkoff and getting the win!

Cards play The Citadel, Dan's old team tomorrow at 2:30 pm. I will be there. Suppose to be 58 degrees and sunny!

This is big. Glad to see the team respond. And I hope that Filomeno shakes this off, as he gets used to being a starter. The kid was dynamite last season, especially in Nashville.

Also -- several guys going yard .... does that mean we should expect more of this this season, throughout the college game? Wasn't there some kind of adjustment to the balls being used, making this a little easier? Or maybe I just dreamt that ... Anyway ....

Great win Cards!

I don't think the flat seam balls come into play until 2015. Great win today to start off what should be another exciting season for the Card 9. Love me some baseball.

Lucky dog.If anybody knows of a link to that game or the WVU game,I'd appreciate it.

The best link that I have found is the D1baseball.com website. It is totally based on donations but they do a great job posting baseball scores.
